On this week's Kratom Stories, Madalyn welcomes back Deborah Anderson for a fascinating update on her Kratom journey, nearly a year after her first appearance on the podcast. Deborah candidly shares how a chance conversation about Kratom led to her discovery of this life-changing plant. Living with chronic pain stemming from decades of diabetes, she describes the profound impact Kratom has had on both her physical and emotional well-being. No longer confined by pain, Deborah details her experience with Kratom, offering practical advice to listeners, and reveals how she's integrated the plant into her daily routine.

The conversation takes an intriguing turn as Deborah recounts a recent trip to a location where Kratom is banned, revealing her clever (though slightly anxiety-inducing!) strategies for discreetly carrying her Kratom. This segment highlights the crucial need for Kratom advocacy and awareness of the legal landscape surrounding this plant. Deborah also shares her desire to get more involved in advocacy efforts, inspiring listeners to join a supportive online community and stay informed about the latest developments in the Kratom world. This episode provides listeners with firsthand accounts, practical advice, and a renewed sense of hope for those seeking natural pain management solutions.

1
00:00:00,040 --> 00:00:03,720
It's so restrictive that now not
only are you in physical pain,

2
00:00:03,720 --> 00:00:05,680
but you're an emotional and
psychological pain.

3
00:00:05,680 --> 00:00:07,880
And it just a horrible
existence.

4
00:00:08,000 --> 00:00:11,400
And kratom has made me feel like
I, I'm actually human being.

5
00:00:11,400 --> 00:00:15,080
Like it said, it erases the pain
so that, you know, it's not a

6
00:00:15,080 --> 00:00:18,520
silly an absolute, but it it
takes you back to that place

7
00:00:18,520 --> 00:00:21,560
where it's like, wow, so this is
like when I was 20 and I feel

8
00:00:21,560 --> 00:00:29,440
good.
Welcome to Kratom Stories, a

9
00:00:29,440 --> 00:00:32,880
weekly podcast where we share
stories of how this amazing

10
00:00:32,880 --> 00:00:36,840
plant has changed our lives.
I'm your host, Madeleine Sklar.

with experts, advocates, and
everyday people who've

13
00:00:43,920 --> 00:00:46,760
experienced the benefits of
kratom first hand.

14
00:00:47,000 --> 00:00:50,400
Join me as we dive deeper into
the world of this botanical

15
00:00:50,400 --> 00:00:54,440
wonder and discover the amazing
stories behind this incredible

16
00:00:54,440 --> 00:01:00,320
plant.

27
00:01:25,880 --> 00:01:29,120
Before we dive into today's

28
00:01:29,120 --> 00:01:32,400
about Kratom Real Talk.
It's a new community for

29
00:01:32,400 --> 00:01:36,600

your knowledge, go to
kratomrealtalk.com.

33
00:01:51,560 --> 00:01:55,520
So I'm here with my good friend
Deborah, who I brought on the

34
00:01:55,520 --> 00:02:00,040
podcast a while back when she
was brand new to kratom.

35
00:02:00,200 --> 00:02:02,240
She was like 10 days into her
kratom journey.

36
00:02:02,240 --> 00:02:05,400
And I said, Deb, you got to come
on the podcast and share this

37
00:02:05,400 --> 00:02:08,360
short journey you've been on
because I thought it was

38
00:02:08,360 --> 00:02:11,039
amazing.
And it's been a while now.

39
00:02:11,039 --> 00:02:14,440
It's been almost a year.
And I thought I should bring you

40
00:02:14,440 --> 00:02:18,200
back to do a, where are you now
in your kratom journey?

41
00:02:18,200 --> 00:02:21,360
So, Deborah, thank you so much
for coming back again.

42
00:02:21,640 --> 00:02:23,680
Thank you for having me.
You know, you're doing this

43
00:02:23,680 --> 00:02:26,400
wonderful intro and all I can
think of is, Oh no, do I have

44
00:02:26,400 --> 00:02:27,920
lipstick on my teeth at all?
I didn't check.

45
00:02:30,240 --> 00:02:31,920
Oh, this is gonna be a fun
conversation.

46
00:02:32,480 --> 00:02:35,200
A good reason to always have a
mirror right by your laptop to

47
00:02:35,200 --> 00:02:39,120
make sure well.
The good thing is an audio

48
00:02:39,120 --> 00:02:41,280
podcast.
I tried to put some video clips

49
00:02:41,280 --> 00:02:44,640
out in social media, but if I do
some social media clips I

50
00:02:44,640 --> 00:02:47,360
promise I will not show that.
OK, that's great.

51
00:02:47,360 --> 00:02:49,440
Thank you.
Hey, I'm I'm real.

52
00:02:49,440 --> 00:02:50,840
I can't.
That's that's me.

53
00:02:51,600 --> 00:02:54,600
There you go.
Yeah, I'm the same way.

54
00:02:54,600 --> 00:02:58,440
I love it.
I had you on back in January

55
00:02:58,440 --> 00:03:04,680
2024 for episode 11 of the Krame
Stories podcast, and I was so

56
00:03:04,680 --> 00:03:07,760
excited to have you on back then
because you and I have known

57
00:03:07,760 --> 00:03:11,160
each other for a long time.
Like I think by now, maybe a

58
00:03:11,160 --> 00:03:15,320
couple of decades, we go way
back in the music business.

59
00:03:15,320 --> 00:03:19,360
You know, you're a musician.
I ran a very large online

60
00:03:19,360 --> 00:03:22,320
community for female musicians
for a very long time.

61
00:03:22,560 --> 00:03:25,760
And so you and I have a long
history with that.

62
00:03:25,760 --> 00:03:27,720
But then also you and I are
techie.

63
00:03:27,880 --> 00:03:31,720
So in our business world, we
always cross paths with that

64
00:03:31,720 --> 00:03:35,320
with digital marketing, social
media, live streaming and

65
00:03:35,320 --> 00:03:38,800
podcasting.
And it's so interesting that

66
00:03:39,120 --> 00:03:43,760
almost a year ago, I am casually
talking about kratom to my

67
00:03:43,760 --> 00:03:47,640
Madeleine Sklar community, which
is completely separate from this

68
00:03:47,640 --> 00:03:50,800
in the kratom world, in my
business world, digital

69
00:03:50,800 --> 00:03:52,720
marketing and social media
marketing.

70
00:03:52,800 --> 00:03:55,320
I've been doing that for, you
know, for decades, known for

71
00:03:55,320 --> 00:03:57,680
that.
And I just happened to just

72
00:03:57,680 --> 00:04:01,600
finally put out there, by the
way, I consume this plant, it's

73
00:04:01,600 --> 00:04:03,560
called kratom.
It helps me with my chronic

74
00:04:03,560 --> 00:04:07,680
pain, blah, blah, blah.
I was not really comfortable

75
00:04:08,000 --> 00:04:11,240
talking about that in my
business world for a really long

76
00:04:11,240 --> 00:04:13,040
time.
But because I was launching this

77
00:04:13,040 --> 00:04:16,160
podcast, I thought I, I want to
talk about this a little bit,

78
00:04:16,320 --> 00:04:19,640
not really thinking, oh, this is
going to, you know, enlighten

79
00:04:19,640 --> 00:04:21,680
some of my friends and
colleagues.

80
00:04:22,079 --> 00:04:25,960
We were doing, you know, the
Twitter now known as X audio

81
00:04:25,960 --> 00:04:31,840
space called spaces and you hear
me mention kratom and you don't

82
00:04:31,840 --> 00:04:36,000
tell me for like a week, but you
I apparently went and did some

83
00:04:36,000 --> 00:04:39,280
research, bought some, tried it,
and then all of a sudden you get

84
00:04:39,280 --> 00:04:41,160
back to me.
Oh my gosh, Madeleine, I tried

85
00:04:41,160 --> 00:04:42,720
kratom.
This is amazing.

86
00:04:43,040 --> 00:04:44,840
I'm like, let's get you on the
podcast.

87
00:04:44,840 --> 00:04:48,440
I want to hear all about this.
So I'm still blown away by that

88
00:04:48,440 --> 00:04:50,280
story.
Maybe we should kind of start

89
00:04:50,280 --> 00:04:53,560
with that and have you kind of
let's revisit that and then

90
00:04:53,560 --> 00:04:57,240
catch up to where you are now.
So this is almost a year ago.

91
00:04:57,440 --> 00:05:00,720
I'm doing my audio space talking
about the business stuff like

92
00:05:00,720 --> 00:05:04,600
you and I do, and you'd come on
to listen and hang out and chat

93
00:05:04,760 --> 00:05:06,560
and you hear me talk about
kratom.

94
00:05:06,800 --> 00:05:09,960
Tell it, take it from there.
Like tell us exactly what

95
00:05:09,960 --> 00:05:11,240
happened and what'd you do?
Well.

96
00:05:11,400 --> 00:05:13,440
I was going to say I feel like
you're a godsend, but see, I

97
00:05:13,440 --> 00:05:15,200
already know Madeline, you are a
godsend.

98
00:05:15,200 --> 00:05:18,160
I mean, in music business, but
most of all friends.

99
00:05:18,160 --> 00:05:21,040
So I mean, you are you're
definitely, you know, hug, hug

100
00:05:21,120 --> 00:05:24,720
and you're a godsend.
But that day I I mean, I can't

101
00:05:24,720 --> 00:05:28,080
believe it that I think it was
we talked about the topic is

102
00:05:28,080 --> 00:05:30,520
live streaming or something.
And I can't remember if you'd

103
00:05:30,520 --> 00:05:33,120
sent out a note that Hey, you
know, we're talking about live

104
00:05:33,120 --> 00:05:34,760
streaming.
So I made a special.

105
00:05:34,960 --> 00:05:36,240
Hey, I'm going to make sure I'm
there.

106
00:05:36,440 --> 00:05:38,320
And like you said, it wasn't
planned.

107
00:05:38,320 --> 00:05:40,720
It just you happen to mention
Kratom while we're talking about

108
00:05:40,720 --> 00:05:44,040
live streaming on your business
and there in the X space.

109
00:05:44,040 --> 00:05:47,480
But I really felt like like it
was meant to be or something

110
00:05:47,480 --> 00:05:50,040
because you know, we've been
talking for some time.

111
00:05:50,040 --> 00:05:52,920
My husband and I have been
talking about moving and it

112
00:05:52,920 --> 00:05:57,440
sounds so petty, but when you're
dependent on Oxy, for example,

113
00:05:57,560 --> 00:06:01,120
to be out of pain and you can't
even make it one day because you

114
00:06:01,120 --> 00:06:03,880
can't function in pain.
I mean, it's like I remember

115
00:06:03,880 --> 00:06:07,040
trying to write A blog post and
when I'm in pain, I can't even

116
00:06:07,200 --> 00:06:10,840
it's like you can't write a
sentence because it's just such

117
00:06:10,840 --> 00:06:13,080
excruciating pain.
And I thought, what am I going

118
00:06:13,080 --> 00:06:15,000
to do when we move to another
state?

119
00:06:15,160 --> 00:06:18,440
Like what do I do?
Go get an airplane ticket, go to

120
00:06:18,440 --> 00:06:22,000
that state, go find a doctor,
get that doctor to somehow

121
00:06:22,200 --> 00:06:25,920
hopefully prescribe painkiller.
I mean, that's a feat in and of

122
00:06:25,920 --> 00:06:28,320
itself.
And then come back home and then

123
00:06:28,560 --> 00:06:31,160
meet with the doctor at home.
But then they're going to know

124
00:06:31,160 --> 00:06:32,920
about the other doctor and
they're not going to want 2

125
00:06:32,920 --> 00:06:35,200
prescriptions going and then
still get the oxy here.

126
00:06:35,200 --> 00:06:38,520
I mean, it sounds silly, but
when you're or it sounds like

127
00:06:38,520 --> 00:06:41,840
you're just a rabid drug addict.
But I mean, when you can't

128
00:06:41,840 --> 00:06:44,680
function even a day because
you're in so much pain that

129
00:06:44,680 --> 00:06:47,080
otherwise you're just going to
curl up in a ball and not, you

130
00:06:47,080 --> 00:06:48,320
know, I thought, all right, I
can make it.

131
00:06:48,320 --> 00:06:50,040
Maybe 3 days.
I can make it.

132
00:06:50,320 --> 00:06:54,640
And then you said this and I
thought, oh wow, I can actually

133
00:06:54,640 --> 00:06:56,440
live like a human being.
I can be free.

134
00:06:56,440 --> 00:06:59,440
I can, we can move.
We can, we can live because I

135
00:06:59,440 --> 00:07:02,440
hated to be tied.
It's it feels like you're a dog

136
00:07:02,520 --> 00:07:06,680
on a leash and that you're tied
to a doctor, a specific doctor

137
00:07:06,680 --> 00:07:09,920
or a specific that you're you're
imprisoned and that you have no

138
00:07:09,920 --> 00:07:13,280
life because you can't function
without pain reliever of some

139
00:07:13,280 --> 00:07:15,320
sort.
And you can't even move to

140
00:07:15,320 --> 00:07:18,760
another house in another state
because you can't last one day.

141
00:07:18,760 --> 00:07:20,760
So it's like you gave me my life
back.

142
00:07:20,840 --> 00:07:24,000
Not only the pain free part of
it, but just to be able to live

143
00:07:24,000 --> 00:07:27,800
life without having to answer to
a doctor saying, oh, we're not

144
00:07:27,800 --> 00:07:31,640
going to give this to you unless
you haven't had any alcohol at

145
00:07:31,640 --> 00:07:34,120
all at your last birthday
because we'll be able to tell

146
00:07:34,120 --> 00:07:36,880
even though it was six months
ago, not that bad.

147
00:07:36,880 --> 00:07:38,760
But I mean, you don't pee in the
cup and check it.

148
00:07:38,760 --> 00:07:42,520
And I mean, it's just, it's so
restrictive that now I'm not

149
00:07:42,520 --> 00:07:45,080
only are you in physical pain,
but you're an emotional and

150
00:07:45,080 --> 00:07:47,960
psychological pain.
And it just, it's a horrible

151
00:07:47,960 --> 00:07:50,720
existence.
And kratom has made me feel like

152
00:07:50,720 --> 00:07:54,240
I, I'm actually human being.
Like it said, it erases the pain

153
00:07:54,480 --> 00:07:58,040
so that you know, it's not a
silly an absolute, but it it

154
00:07:58,040 --> 00:08:00,600
takes you back to that place
where it's like, wow, this is

155
00:08:00,600 --> 00:08:02,640
like when I was 20 and I feel
good.

156
00:08:03,880 --> 00:08:07,920
So many of us feel that way too,
because I have found with Kratom

157
00:08:07,920 --> 00:08:10,640
and so many other people that
suffer from chronic pain, we

158
00:08:10,640 --> 00:08:15,000
feel like it brings us back to
our old self before we suffered

159
00:08:15,000 --> 00:08:18,240
with chronic pain because it
helps the pain so much, but also

160
00:08:18,240 --> 00:08:22,160
gets you out that headspace of
always being in that place where

161
00:08:22,160 --> 00:08:25,160
you're so consumed by it.
You're uncomfortable, like

162
00:08:25,160 --> 00:08:26,760
you're saying, trying to do a
blog post.

163
00:08:26,760 --> 00:08:29,280
I mean, I could totally relate
because it's, it's just hard to

164
00:08:29,280 --> 00:08:31,800
work and do things when you're
suffering.

165
00:08:31,800 --> 00:08:34,200
And even when you are in pain
management, you're getting the

166
00:08:34,200 --> 00:08:37,360
pain medications.
It's not always that helpful.

167
00:08:37,559 --> 00:08:39,600
And like you said, you're tied
to a doctor.

168
00:08:39,919 --> 00:08:41,520
And same.
I felt the same way too.

169
00:08:41,520 --> 00:08:43,640
Like you feel like you can't
move, you feel like you can't go

170
00:08:43,640 --> 00:08:46,640
anywhere because you got to be
able to find someone who would

171
00:08:46,640 --> 00:08:50,160
take that doctor's place and
help take care of you and give

172
00:08:50,160 --> 00:08:53,000
you that quality of care that
you deserve.

173
00:08:53,080 --> 00:08:57,160
And it's amazing to me that a
plant can completely disrupt

174
00:08:57,160 --> 00:09:02,520
that and put you on a path to
Wellness, happiness, and living

175
00:09:02,800 --> 00:09:04,960
a much better version of your
life.

176
00:09:05,240 --> 00:09:07,960
Well, I mean, you know, talking
about doctors and stuff and just

177
00:09:07,960 --> 00:09:11,160
say I don't want to if anyone's
listening to like my diabetic

178
00:09:11,160 --> 00:09:14,360
real podcast, I say things.
I'm not against all doctors in

179
00:09:14,360 --> 00:09:17,040
the world, but I do think that
there should be a little more

180
00:09:17,040 --> 00:09:20,080
balance as far as we should
treat people nice.

181
00:09:20,080 --> 00:09:22,720
I think that's what I'm trying
to say is, is no shaming of

182
00:09:22,720 --> 00:09:25,560
people, including the whole oxy
epidemic and saying, Oh, no,

183
00:09:25,560 --> 00:09:27,720
you're a drug addict because you
took one oxy pill and the whole

184
00:09:27,720 --> 00:09:29,520
thing.
But like in the pee in a cup

185
00:09:29,640 --> 00:09:32,840
thing where I went in and I was
I was tested and I hadn't had

186
00:09:33,040 --> 00:09:37,600
any alcohol in like 18 months
and any but yet I was accused of

187
00:09:37,600 --> 00:09:40,400
drinking alcohol.
I did have some cough syrup, but

188
00:09:40,400 --> 00:09:43,520
that was like 4 days before and
I guess that can show up as a

189
00:09:43,520 --> 00:09:46,600
positive for alcohol.
But the there was something, it

190
00:09:46,600 --> 00:09:48,960
turns out that because of my
diabetes, you know, you've heard

191
00:09:48,960 --> 00:09:51,640
of this thing where it's like
Brewers whatever, where it can

192
00:09:51,640 --> 00:09:55,400
show up as having alcohol or
yeah, and I don't think I have

193
00:09:55,400 --> 00:09:56,760
that.
But there is something that

194
00:09:56,760 --> 00:09:59,880
turns out that because of the
diabetes, it can show up that

195
00:09:59,880 --> 00:10:03,080
there's alcohol, even though I
swear I didn't have any for 18

196
00:10:03,080 --> 00:10:06,080
months.
But my doctor really likes me.

197
00:10:06,080 --> 00:10:08,960
She sent in this other gal that
just reamed me up.

198
00:10:09,080 --> 00:10:12,680
I literally walked out of there
in tears because it's like, is

199
00:10:12,680 --> 00:10:16,680
this, is this worth it?
That not only I'm going in here

200
00:10:16,680 --> 00:10:19,800
to try to get pain relief for
physical pain, I did what I was

201
00:10:19,800 --> 00:10:21,960
supposed to.
I didn't have anything to drink.

202
00:10:22,160 --> 00:10:24,720
I peed in a cup.
They checked it and now they're

203
00:10:24,720 --> 00:10:28,000
yelling at me for something.
I did not do it.

204
00:10:28,000 --> 00:10:31,240
Just, you know, and kratom,
there's the plants not yelling

205
00:10:31,240 --> 00:10:33,200
at me.
So that's really a good thing

206
00:10:33,200 --> 00:10:35,240
that the kratom is not yelling
at me.

207
00:10:35,720 --> 00:10:40,000
I love that the plant is not
doing that because it's, it's

208
00:10:40,000 --> 00:10:43,280
supposed to be doing and, and
giving you a, a better, you

209
00:10:43,280 --> 00:10:47,960
know, fuller life.
I'm so glad looking back that I

210
00:10:47,960 --> 00:10:51,120
mentioned Kratom, even though I
never really felt comfortable

211
00:10:51,120 --> 00:10:54,560
talking about my pain issues in
my business community.

212
00:10:54,680 --> 00:10:58,880
I always felt like business and
personal should be separate.

213
00:10:59,080 --> 00:11:02,160
So even though I've suffered
from chronic pain, severe

214
00:11:02,160 --> 00:11:05,920
chronic pain for almost 2
decades now, I just did not

215
00:11:05,920 --> 00:11:08,560
really feel comfortable bringing
it, bringing it up in any of my

216
00:11:08,560 --> 00:11:10,920
business stuff.
Now, if I'm with, you know,

217
00:11:11,160 --> 00:11:14,800
business colleagues and it's an
extended, like maybe you're

218
00:11:14,800 --> 00:11:17,520
going to a conference together
and maybe you're sharing a hotel

219
00:11:17,520 --> 00:11:21,080
room or something where it's
more of an intimate thing, I

220
00:11:21,080 --> 00:11:23,400
feel like, OK, I got to let them
know because they're going to be

221
00:11:23,400 --> 00:11:26,680
seeing me popping pills.
If it's a casual thing, I can

222
00:11:26,680 --> 00:11:29,480
sit here and take my meds and
nobody would ever know the

223
00:11:29,480 --> 00:11:31,320
difference.
So I never felt like I had to

224
00:11:31,320 --> 00:11:34,520
talk about it.
But when you're traveling or

225
00:11:34,520 --> 00:11:37,720
just spending a lot of time
together with other colleagues,

226
00:11:37,800 --> 00:11:40,120
I always felt like, OK, I'm
going to have to let them know.

227
00:11:40,120 --> 00:11:42,840
I do suffer from chronic pain.
I'm just taking my, my pain

228
00:11:42,840 --> 00:11:45,840
medicine, you know, no worries.
I'm just, I don't want you to

229
00:11:45,840 --> 00:11:48,760
think I just keep popping pills
because I'm, you know, having

230
00:11:48,760 --> 00:11:51,120
issues with drugs.
But I just always kept it

231
00:11:51,120 --> 00:11:52,600
separate.
But there was just something

232
00:11:52,600 --> 00:11:55,320
about that X space you and I
were in.

233
00:11:55,600 --> 00:11:58,600
I think there was like back in
December, it was like some like

234
00:11:58,600 --> 00:12:01,440
around the holidays, I think.
So we're coming up on a year.

235
00:12:01,480 --> 00:12:03,000
And I just thought, you know
what?

236
00:12:03,000 --> 00:12:05,480
Because a lot of it was because
I had the new podcast, this

237
00:12:05,480 --> 00:12:08,040
podcast was getting ready to
launch or I think it had just

238
00:12:08,040 --> 00:12:09,880
launched.
So I thought I'm just going to

239
00:12:09,880 --> 00:12:12,480
mention it And I just didn't
know what kind of reaction.

240
00:12:12,640 --> 00:12:17,760
I just had no idea that like it
would cause you to go and

241
00:12:17,760 --> 00:12:22,040
research it further and then go
buy some and not only, you know,

242
00:12:22,040 --> 00:12:24,880
you went out and bought some,
you bought it from somebody.

243
00:12:25,000 --> 00:12:28,880
I know trade industry and
somebody, you know, from the

244
00:12:28,880 --> 00:12:32,240
business world that I kind of
knew in the business world, but

245
00:12:32,240 --> 00:12:34,680
not really.
And it's like, so when you

246
00:12:34,680 --> 00:12:37,680
started talking about, you know,
where you bought your Kratom and

247
00:12:37,840 --> 00:12:41,680
I was like, Oh my gosh, what a
small, small world we live in.

248
00:12:41,680 --> 00:12:43,800
So we definitely have to have
people listen to your first

249
00:12:43,800 --> 00:12:45,920
episode, episode 11.
I'll, I'll link to it in the

250
00:12:45,920 --> 00:12:49,320
show notes because you tell so
many interesting stories in

251
00:12:49,320 --> 00:12:51,320
that.
Are you still consuming Kratom

252
00:12:51,520 --> 00:12:54,360
through that company?
I do when I order it, it's just

253
00:12:54,360 --> 00:12:56,960
I, I have to be honest, like,
well, not like I would say that

254
00:12:56,960 --> 00:12:59,000
I have to be honest.
Like what am I doing if I don't

255
00:12:59,000 --> 00:13:01,080
say I have to be honest the rest
of the time I'm lying.

256
00:13:01,080 --> 00:13:03,080
But no, it's just, it's just a
phrase.

257
00:13:03,200 --> 00:13:08,080
It's like but I do use the
pills, the ones you recommended

258
00:13:08,080 --> 00:13:09,120
from Ether.
Is it?

259
00:13:09,280 --> 00:13:11,120
Is it?
Pronounced yeah, I'm sorry, say

260
00:13:11,120 --> 00:13:12,800
pills and then you start
thinking oxy.

261
00:13:12,840 --> 00:13:14,440
Pills or something?
Tablets.

262
00:13:14,720 --> 00:13:18,000
Tablets that would be more more
correct, but is it ether or

263
00:13:18,000 --> 00:13:19,320
ether?
Ether, Ether.

264
00:13:19,320 --> 00:13:22,000
Pronounced ether.
Botanicals and I have a link to

265
00:13:22,040 --> 00:13:26,560
that and on my website, it's one
of a handful of vendors that

266
00:13:26,640 --> 00:13:31,480
I've personally research, fully
gotten to know the people behind

267
00:13:31,480 --> 00:13:34,800
them and purchase them myself
for my personal kratom

268
00:13:34,800 --> 00:13:37,120
consumption.
So I'm only going to recommend

269
00:13:37,120 --> 00:13:41,120
the ones that I use that helps
me in my chronic pain.

270
00:13:41,280 --> 00:13:44,400
And so Ethan Botanicals has been
one of my favorite for several

271
00:13:44,400 --> 00:13:46,320
years because they do those
press tablets.

272
00:13:46,480 --> 00:13:50,080
And just to clarify, it's not
those new 7OH tablets

273
00:13:50,080 --> 00:13:53,640
everybody's hearing about.
That's like a whole new who wave

274
00:13:53,640 --> 00:13:57,040
a products that have come out
that are synthesized is taking

275
00:13:57,120 --> 00:14:01,040
kratom extracts, which are
already potent and synthesizing

276
00:14:01,040 --> 00:14:04,040
it further to make it way more
potent to the point that it's

277
00:14:04,040 --> 00:14:06,640
basically an opioid.
And they're calling it, you

278
00:14:06,640 --> 00:14:11,400
know, is taking the seven
hydroxymetragynine alkaloid and

279
00:14:11,720 --> 00:14:16,120
making it crazy strong.
But because it comes from the

280
00:14:16,120 --> 00:14:19,680
kratom plant, the mitrogyny,
they are calling it a kratom

281
00:14:19,680 --> 00:14:21,960
product and they really
shouldn't be calling it kratom.

282
00:14:21,960 --> 00:14:25,280
So just know that whenever I'm
to the point where I always

283
00:14:25,280 --> 00:14:29,160
clarify this if I talk about
tablets because people are being

284
00:14:29,400 --> 00:14:30,360
led.
To.

285
00:14:30,880 --> 00:14:33,600
These similar H tablets like in
the smoke shops are pushing them

286
00:14:33,600 --> 00:14:36,520
really hard right now.
They're expensive, they're crazy

287
00:14:36,520 --> 00:14:38,880
strong and they could be
addictive.

288
00:14:39,000 --> 00:14:43,080
So I it is, and we hope that you
know, this gets resolved that

289
00:14:43,200 --> 00:14:44,320
they can't keep calling it
Kratom.

290
00:14:44,440 --> 00:14:46,760
But what I like is what you're
talking about the ether

291
00:14:46,760 --> 00:14:49,280
botanicals they have.
They do have some extract

292
00:14:49,280 --> 00:14:50,520
tablets.
I don't do that.

293
00:14:50,640 --> 00:14:54,000
Just the regular whole leaf
kratom tablets, which is

294
00:14:54,000 --> 00:14:57,920
basically the powder, but in a
tablet form and I use their

295
00:14:57,920 --> 00:15:00,480
powder too.
I like those tablets for on the

296
00:15:00,480 --> 00:15:02,120
go.
They're so great for that.

297
00:15:02,120 --> 00:15:04,560
But I'm glad that you you've
been using the tablets because

298
00:15:04,680 --> 00:15:08,160
it's such an easy way to consume
Kratom and it doesn't have the

299
00:15:08,160 --> 00:15:10,640
bad taste.
I just, I got lazy and it was

300
00:15:10,640 --> 00:15:13,440
like, oh, I'll just, you know,
for a week I'll just use them

301
00:15:13,440 --> 00:15:15,680
all the time instead because I
used to just use them at night.

302
00:15:15,680 --> 00:15:18,480
Like if I got up and I couldn't
sleep and too much pain, then I

303
00:15:18,480 --> 00:15:21,080
would grab them because
otherwise you get up and you use

304
00:15:21,080 --> 00:15:23,880
the, the powder form.
Then I'm too awake and I already

305
00:15:23,880 --> 00:15:26,600
suffer from, you know, getting
having trouble going back to

306
00:15:26,600 --> 00:15:28,480
sleep.
So that way you can just pop the

307
00:15:28,480 --> 00:15:29,920
tablets and you go back to
sleep.

308
00:15:29,920 --> 00:15:32,840
Well, so that I got a little bit
lazy and it's like, well, I'll

309
00:15:32,840 --> 00:15:35,440
just splurge, you know, for the
week and I'll just use the

310
00:15:35,440 --> 00:15:38,400
tablets and presents 2 weeks.
And then it's like, well, I'll

311
00:15:38,400 --> 00:15:40,720
just go on the website and I'll
just make up for it and order a

312
00:15:40,720 --> 00:15:44,640
whole bunch of them.
And, and so I, I think I haven't

313
00:15:44,800 --> 00:15:48,080
used the powder form and
probably, oh, I don't know, four

314
00:15:48,080 --> 00:15:49,960
months because I just keep
using.

315
00:15:50,440 --> 00:15:52,720
The tablet.
I just love them.

316
00:15:53,000 --> 00:15:53,680
Yeah.
Oh, they're.

317
00:15:53,680 --> 00:15:55,640
So.
I mean, I still have the Mason

318
00:15:55,640 --> 00:15:57,040
jars.
I love that you recommended

319
00:15:57,040 --> 00:15:57,680
that.
That's great.

320
00:15:57,680 --> 00:15:59,880
So I still have my powder and
the Mason jars.

321
00:15:59,880 --> 00:16:02,520
And when I do order, I order
from now.

322
00:16:02,560 --> 00:16:06,000
I forgot it.
Oh, and Wade's, I still order

323
00:16:06,000 --> 00:16:09,640
from Wade when I do order.
Yeah, Kratom family.

324
00:16:09,640 --> 00:16:11,840
I was like family something
Wade's family.

325
00:16:11,840 --> 00:16:14,520
But hi, Wade.
Thank you.

326
00:16:14,520 --> 00:16:17,520
Wade.
I'm sorry, but yeah, so I order,

327
00:16:17,560 --> 00:16:20,680
I order from them when it's the
powder form, but otherwise I've

328
00:16:20,680 --> 00:16:23,320
been ordering the tablets and
that's what I've been used and I

329
00:16:23,320 --> 00:16:26,040
I watch for.
And I learned this from you mad.

330
00:16:26,080 --> 00:16:29,680
But I always watch for the sale.
So I try to go for the 40% off.

331
00:16:29,760 --> 00:16:33,840
And then of course, I'm ordering
so much that then I get the the

332
00:16:33,840 --> 00:16:37,160
customer loyalty points.
Yeah, but I'm done.

333
00:16:37,160 --> 00:16:40,840
Then I've got 40% off with those
and I always just go for, I

334
00:16:40,840 --> 00:16:43,880
mean, I might be spending like
300 or so at a time, but then,

335
00:16:44,200 --> 00:16:46,760
then I'm getting a whole bunch
of them at once and can't

336
00:16:46,760 --> 00:16:49,760
remember what combination.
It's like I've got obviously

337
00:16:49,760 --> 00:16:51,680
the, the 1000 pills.
I'm trying to remember what the

338
00:16:51,680 --> 00:16:53,440
combination.
There's a certain combination.

339
00:16:53,440 --> 00:16:56,000
I, I sit and play with the
calculator just as a tip if

340
00:16:56,000 --> 00:16:58,080
anyone wants to do it, but you
play with the calculator in the,

341
00:16:58,080 --> 00:17:00,440
in the shopping base, the
shopping bag or shopping cart.

342
00:17:00,720 --> 00:17:04,040
You play with it and watch the
discount to see what combination

343
00:17:04,040 --> 00:17:05,800
comes up for the amount that you
want.

344
00:17:05,800 --> 00:17:09,400
And I think it ends up being
like two of the, it's not as

345
00:17:09,400 --> 00:17:14,119
obvious like where it's 1000 and
then 500 might be 1500 and then

346
00:17:14,119 --> 00:17:17,280
125 or something.
It's an odd combination that

347
00:17:17,280 --> 00:17:19,520
ends up being exactly the amount
that I want to spend.

348
00:17:19,520 --> 00:17:22,599
But but you can sit and play
with it and remove bags.

349
00:17:22,599 --> 00:17:25,119
Add two of one and.
Add figure it out.

350
00:17:25,520 --> 00:17:27,200
Until you get the amount you
want to spend.

351
00:17:27,319 --> 00:17:30,520
I always watch for their sales
too and I do recommend the

352
00:17:30,520 --> 00:17:34,240
tablets for people new to kratom
because it's so easy.

353
00:17:34,360 --> 00:17:37,200
The powder is messy, it tastes
bad.

354
00:17:37,680 --> 00:17:41,520
I wish tablets were out back
when I first started kratom and

355
00:17:41,520 --> 00:17:44,120
I had discovered them because I
probably would have never done

356
00:17:44,120 --> 00:17:45,480
powder.
I would just do the tablets.

357
00:17:45,480 --> 00:17:49,160
But the only thing is the
tablets are more pricey so I'm

358
00:17:49,160 --> 00:17:51,600
used to the powder.
What I do is I buy both their

359
00:17:51,600 --> 00:17:53,760
powder and tablets.
I watch for when they're having

360
00:17:53,760 --> 00:17:55,320
a sale.
I'll have a link to it in the

361
00:17:55,320 --> 00:17:58,800
show notes if anybody, and they
do have sample tablets for free.

362
00:17:58,920 --> 00:18:01,360
I'll put a link to all that in
the show notes if anybody wants

363
00:18:01,360 --> 00:18:03,760
to check it out.
But I'm starting to when I talk

364
00:18:03,760 --> 00:18:07,000
to people new and they're coming
to me asking me like where

365
00:18:07,000 --> 00:18:09,720
should I buy this?
What do you recommend and asking

366
00:18:09,720 --> 00:18:12,520
me all the questions I'm
starting to tell people try the

367
00:18:12,520 --> 00:18:14,920
tablets first because it's so
easy.

368
00:18:15,080 --> 00:18:17,640
I mean, yes, it's a little
pricier, but when you're new,

369
00:18:17,680 --> 00:18:20,600
you just want to see if this
stuff even works and you want

370
00:18:20,600 --> 00:18:23,880
don't want to have to deal with
a mess of powder or you know,

371
00:18:23,880 --> 00:18:26,800
the bitter taste of of the
kratom when you make a tea or do

372
00:18:26,800 --> 00:18:28,800
the toss and wash.
So I've been telling people to

373
00:18:28,800 --> 00:18:30,720
start with that.
And then once you find what

374
00:18:30,720 --> 00:18:34,440
works for you, you could always
just do the powder version

375
00:18:34,440 --> 00:18:35,880
because literally they're
tablets.

376
00:18:35,960 --> 00:18:38,800
You can crush up a tablet and it
is their powder.

377
00:18:38,800 --> 00:18:41,880
There's no fillers, There's
nothing I did and I love that

378
00:18:42,000 --> 00:18:44,640
about Youthub.
I'm surprised more kratom

379
00:18:44,640 --> 00:18:47,200
companies don't do a tablet
version but.

380
00:18:47,400 --> 00:18:48,680
It's surprising.
I want to.

381
00:18:48,960 --> 00:18:52,920
Yeah, I'm definitely curious.
Well, so let's start.

382
00:18:52,920 --> 00:18:55,960
Let's kind of back up a little
bit to like just your chronic

383
00:18:55,960 --> 00:18:57,840
pain issues.
We want to deep dive into it

384
00:18:57,840 --> 00:19:00,200
because people can go listen.
I'll link to your previous

385
00:19:00,200 --> 00:19:02,320
episode to get the longer
version.

386
00:19:02,320 --> 00:19:05,080
But why don't we talk a little
bit about like, what are the

387
00:19:05,080 --> 00:19:08,720
chronic issues you deal with and
how is kratom helping it?

388
00:19:09,040 --> 00:19:12,600
I think that my main issue has
to do with the diabetes that one

389
00:19:12,600 --> 00:19:16,040
now I think my what's that?
My neurologist, I'm trying to

390
00:19:16,040 --> 00:19:17,920
remember which, you know, I
talked to so many doctors that

391
00:19:17,920 --> 00:19:21,640
try to figure out which doctor
said what, but I had and I

392
00:19:21,640 --> 00:19:24,760
believe I said this in the
other, the other episode, 120

393
00:19:24,760 --> 00:19:26,280
seizures.
I think after that I stopped

394
00:19:26,280 --> 00:19:28,360
counting.
Fortunately, I'm seizure free

395
00:19:28,360 --> 00:19:31,960
now for like going on three to 3
1/2 years, whatever it is now

396
00:19:32,360 --> 00:19:35,400
you can go back the other
episode and then like add almost

397
00:19:35,400 --> 00:19:36,760
a year to that or you know,
whatever.

398
00:19:36,760 --> 00:19:40,920
But so the, it's kind of a
combination and I won't, I don't

399
00:19:40,920 --> 00:19:43,800
have to go and I have diabetes
and I have epilepsy.

400
00:19:43,920 --> 00:19:47,760
So seizures don't hurt people,
but falling from the seizure,

401
00:19:47,800 --> 00:19:49,600
you know, breaking legs 3, all
that stuff.

402
00:19:49,600 --> 00:19:53,160
So I have bunged up my body.
I'll just think about 120 falls

403
00:19:53,360 --> 00:19:56,200
and maybe a couple of them were
with the bed, but most of them

404
00:19:56,200 --> 00:19:59,720
are hitting floors hitting,
desks hitting walls hitting.

405
00:19:59,800 --> 00:20:02,280
I think I broke a door one time.
Oh my.

406
00:20:02,440 --> 00:20:04,960
Goodness.
I've done the house some damage,

407
00:20:04,960 --> 00:20:07,760
but then the house has done me
some damage too.

408
00:20:07,760 --> 00:20:12,880
So so that all comes with some
issues, but mostly the on the

409
00:20:12,960 --> 00:20:16,240
diabetes and it's the nerve
damage the like.

410
00:20:16,600 --> 00:20:20,360
Now I don't this part of it, I
haven't researched entirely, but

411
00:20:20,360 --> 00:20:23,040
the, I almost said diabetic
retinopathy, but that's the

412
00:20:23,040 --> 00:20:25,640
eyes, that's diabetic and they
don't hurt.

413
00:20:25,640 --> 00:20:27,960
My eyes don't hurt fortunately.
But then the diabetic

414
00:20:27,960 --> 00:20:30,680
neuropathy, and this is where I
disagreed with my neurologist.

415
00:20:30,680 --> 00:20:33,480
I was in for a seizure study and
he says, well, then, then you

416
00:20:33,480 --> 00:20:35,840
don't feel anything.
I definitely can feel my feet.

417
00:20:35,840 --> 00:20:37,880
I feel too much as far as my
feet.

418
00:20:37,880 --> 00:20:41,080
So he's like, well, and I guess
that's the neuropathy where you

419
00:20:41,080 --> 00:20:44,120
have less feeling whatever.
I don't know what it's called.

420
00:20:44,280 --> 00:20:47,880
I just know that whatever pain I
have in my body is the same pain

421
00:20:47,880 --> 00:20:50,200
I used to have as a little kid,
like with my blood sugar went

422
00:20:50,200 --> 00:20:52,720
high.
That's the kind of pain that I

423
00:20:52,720 --> 00:20:55,120
used to only get when I had high
blood sugar.

424
00:20:55,280 --> 00:20:58,920
Now I have it all the time and
it's like times 100.

425
00:20:59,040 --> 00:21:02,600
So that's why I say, I think
it's whatever you call it.

426
00:21:02,600 --> 00:21:04,200
I don't know what the medical
term is for.

427
00:21:04,200 --> 00:21:05,400
Or maybe they don't have medical
term.

428
00:21:05,400 --> 00:21:06,920
Maybe it's not diabetic
neuropathy.

429
00:21:06,920 --> 00:21:08,680
I don't know.
But I think it has something to

430
00:21:08,680 --> 00:21:11,680
do with nerve endings because it
used to just be like in my legs,

431
00:21:11,680 --> 00:21:14,000
but now it's the same pain all
throughout my body.

432
00:21:14,000 --> 00:21:16,520
And I think it has to do with
just having diabetes for the

433
00:21:16,520 --> 00:21:18,640
number of decades.
I mean, I don't get my age, but

434
00:21:18,640 --> 00:21:21,560
you can probably guess like, you
know, four or five decades of

435
00:21:21,720 --> 00:21:24,720
diabetes, it's going to do some
nerve ending damage.

436
00:21:24,720 --> 00:21:27,600
And like I say on my podcast,
for those people being diagnosed

437
00:21:27,600 --> 00:21:30,880
with diabetes, with type 1
diabetes now, you're in a great

438
00:21:30,880 --> 00:21:32,720
place.
I mean, OK, that sounds wrong.

439
00:21:32,920 --> 00:21:34,400
And I say, oh, yeah, we have
diabetes.

440
00:21:34,400 --> 00:21:37,480
I don't mean it that way, but as
far as technology, the insulin

441
00:21:37,480 --> 00:21:40,440
pump, you know, all the stuff
that's out there, you've got a

442
00:21:40,440 --> 00:21:42,520
great future as far as diabetes
goes.

443
00:21:42,520 --> 00:21:45,680
You've got all the tools to have
a wonderful life.

444
00:21:45,920 --> 00:21:48,760
But when I was diagnosed in the
70s, now you can, you can do the

445
00:21:48,760 --> 00:21:51,480
math and I'll just I'll let you
do the math on that one.

446
00:21:51,560 --> 00:21:53,840
But but they didn't have that.
I mean, they didn't, they

447
00:21:53,840 --> 00:21:56,920
weren't even doing blood tests.
So, you know, other than than

448
00:21:57,080 --> 00:21:59,040
doing a pee test.
And that was kept telling you

449
00:21:59,040 --> 00:22:00,600
what your blood sugar.
Well, let's even tell you what

450
00:22:00,600 --> 00:22:02,480
your blood sugar was.
It was telling you what the

451
00:22:02,480 --> 00:22:06,000
measurement was as far as urine,
not to get gross, but was like

452
00:22:06,040 --> 00:22:08,280
two hours ago.
You know, what good does that do

453
00:22:08,280 --> 00:22:10,560
is first what you're what you're
managing.

454
00:22:10,560 --> 00:22:13,520
So when I was diagnosed not to
complain, that's all we had.

455
00:22:13,600 --> 00:22:19,360
So the difference between when I
was diagnosed in 76 and 1985 was

456
00:22:19,360 --> 00:22:22,560
a whole world of change because
by 85, we're definitely doing

457
00:22:22,560 --> 00:22:25,520
blood tests at home.
And then from there, I mean,

458
00:22:25,520 --> 00:22:29,440
it's almost like every decade
the technology for diabetes was

459
00:22:29,680 --> 00:22:32,520
it was doubling or quadrupling
or 10 times better.

460
00:22:32,520 --> 00:22:35,320
I mean, the stuff that I've seen
in my lifetime as far as

461
00:22:35,320 --> 00:22:38,040
diabetes management is
phenomenal.

462
00:22:38,320 --> 00:22:44,520
But that first decade from 76 to
85 or even 76 to 80 was, it was

463
00:22:44,520 --> 00:22:46,640
like non existent.
It's like, do the doctors

464
00:22:46,640 --> 00:22:48,800
realize there's diabetic people
out there?

465
00:22:49,000 --> 00:22:52,280
You know, So you know, I don't
blame anyone or anything like

466
00:22:52,280 --> 00:22:53,560
that.
I'm not, it's not a complaint.

467
00:22:53,560 --> 00:22:57,040
It's just obviously my body had
damage during that first ten

468
00:22:57,040 --> 00:22:59,760
years and there wasn't.
It's just, it's about when I was

469
00:22:59,760 --> 00:23:02,400
diagnosed.
Nothing can be done to change

470
00:23:02,400 --> 00:23:04,600
that.
It's just my body now is

471
00:23:04,800 --> 00:23:06,400
suffering.
You know the ramp.

472
00:23:06,960 --> 00:23:09,200
Of.
When I was diagnosed and there's

473
00:23:09,200 --> 00:23:12,680
nothing that can be undone.
But to me that to me, I'm

474
00:23:12,680 --> 00:23:14,520
representative of the fact that
I'm still alive.

475
00:23:14,520 --> 00:23:17,240
Because you know, I think I told
you in the last broadcast where

476
00:23:17,240 --> 00:23:21,840
the pharmacist said you're the
oldest, I you're the oldest type

477
00:23:21,840 --> 00:23:23,680
one I've had.
It's like, is that is that a

478
00:23:23,680 --> 00:23:25,840
good thing?
Or, you know, it's like you're

479
00:23:25,840 --> 00:23:28,400
so healthy, you're so alive.
It's like, OK, that's good.

480
00:23:28,400 --> 00:23:30,840
But I, I forget to vote for
everyone that, you know, that's

481
00:23:31,080 --> 00:23:34,160
after me, that look, you can
live like a normal person.

482
00:23:34,160 --> 00:23:37,280
You have all this technology
that's to your benefit and you

483
00:23:37,280 --> 00:23:38,840
have Kratoms.
So if I do.

484
00:23:38,880 --> 00:23:41,320
Have.
Anything you, you know, there's

485
00:23:41,320 --> 00:23:42,640
hope.
That's what I want to be as a

486
00:23:42,640 --> 00:23:44,920
beacon for hope for people
coming up.

487
00:23:45,320 --> 00:23:49,920
That's amazing, how is kratom
helping you with living with

488
00:23:49,920 --> 00:23:52,080
diabetes?
I feel like it.

489
00:23:52,320 --> 00:23:54,840
I keep, you know, I keep saying
helps me to feel like a normal

490
00:23:54,840 --> 00:23:57,240
person, but that's assuming that
I don't feel like a normal

491
00:23:57,240 --> 00:23:59,600
person.
But I mean, okay, I guess wait,

492
00:23:59,760 --> 00:24:02,880
I'd make sure that I didn't have
my Oh, I do OK, I was like,

493
00:24:02,880 --> 00:24:06,080
where'd I put my pump?
It's on my bra and I'm sensor

494
00:24:06,080 --> 00:24:09,400
out of the visual.
It's like I wore I wore my belt

495
00:24:09,400 --> 00:24:11,760
just so I wouldn't have to grab
it from my bra.

496
00:24:11,760 --> 00:24:15,000
But that see that I'm sharing
that because that is life being

497
00:24:15,000 --> 00:24:17,200
a diabetic.
And I know guys don't wear bras,

498
00:24:17,200 --> 00:24:19,720
but it's like, all right, what
am I going to attach to?

499
00:24:19,720 --> 00:24:23,160
And and most guys can stick it
on a belt, but it's like we

500
00:24:23,160 --> 00:24:25,360
women, if we're going to wear
and I had that in one of the

501
00:24:25,360 --> 00:24:27,160
episodes, we're going to wear a
dress or something.

502
00:24:27,360 --> 00:24:28,960
You have to attach it to
something.

503
00:24:28,960 --> 00:24:31,240
So it's like, Oh, I'll just
attach it to the bra because

504
00:24:31,240 --> 00:24:35,480
it's it's right there.
But I did for anyone listening

505
00:24:35,480 --> 00:24:38,560
and not seeing the video, I did
stay closed the whole time, all

506
00:24:38,560 --> 00:24:40,280
the time reaching up and doing
that.

507
00:24:40,320 --> 00:24:42,960
So but yeah, I mean, if you
want, you're spending life

508
00:24:43,080 --> 00:24:46,880
walking around with a device
that obviously is not considered

509
00:24:46,880 --> 00:24:49,560
what normal people do because
they don't have to walk around.

510
00:24:49,560 --> 00:24:52,680
So I guess when I say that
haven't trying to live a life

511
00:24:52,680 --> 00:24:56,840
that's normal, maybe there's a
better word for that, but more

512
00:24:56,840 --> 00:24:59,120
standard or something.
The way most people live and

513
00:24:59,120 --> 00:25:01,560
most people are not living with
a device attached to their bra.

514
00:25:01,560 --> 00:25:06,280
So kratom helps me to in the
grander scheme of things, live

515
00:25:06,280 --> 00:25:09,120
life more normal as far as a
pain free.

516
00:25:09,240 --> 00:25:12,160
And to me, it's a part of that,
like I said, grander scheme as

517
00:25:12,160 --> 00:25:15,320
far as being balanced and being
able to be pain free.

518
00:25:15,360 --> 00:25:18,480
And along with the other tools
like the insulin pump, like like

519
00:25:18,480 --> 00:25:21,600
insulin for that matter, it's
maybe my body doesn't produce

520
00:25:21,600 --> 00:25:25,120
insulin, but through the medical
technology I can have insulin

521
00:25:25,120 --> 00:25:29,400
coming in through insulin pump.
Well, kratom is my pain relief.

522
00:25:29,400 --> 00:25:34,280
So now I can be like I'm 20 and
feel normal, feel alive and feel

523
00:25:34,280 --> 00:25:36,680
like I can get stuff done.
I can clean my house, I can

524
00:25:36,680 --> 00:25:38,440
write A blog post, I can do live
stream.

525
00:25:38,440 --> 00:25:41,480
I can do 2 podcasts instead of 1
and maybe eventually all 7.

526
00:25:41,640 --> 00:25:43,480
So.
You're like me.

527
00:25:43,480 --> 00:25:45,000
It's like more and more and
more.

528
00:25:45,000 --> 00:25:47,640
So many things I want to do.
And because of kratom, we feel

529
00:25:47,640 --> 00:25:49,400
better.
So we feel like we can do it.

530
00:25:49,640 --> 00:25:50,680
Yep.
Yeah.

531
00:25:50,680 --> 00:25:54,240
So in addition to the pain
relief, do you feel like kratom

532
00:25:54,240 --> 00:25:56,480
helps with other things?
You know, so many people say I

533
00:25:56,480 --> 00:25:59,600
get the energy boost or the mood
lift and just, you know, oh, I

534
00:25:59,600 --> 00:26:02,880
don't suffer from anxiety or
depression anymore that I used

535
00:26:02,880 --> 00:26:04,920
to take medication for.
It's always interesting that

536
00:26:04,920 --> 00:26:08,320
people have other results they
get from the plant other than

537
00:26:08,320 --> 00:26:12,440
just those seeking pain relief.
Probably as I hadn't really

538
00:26:12,440 --> 00:26:15,480
thought of it that way, but
probably because it that's a

539
00:26:15,480 --> 00:26:17,640
good point.
I should, I should think to sit

540
00:26:17,640 --> 00:26:21,280
down and analyze that, but I
think the pain was just so

541
00:26:21,280 --> 00:26:24,120
debilitating that it was like
when I was in so much pain.

542
00:26:24,120 --> 00:26:25,680
Which overtakes everything.
Yeah.

543
00:26:25,680 --> 00:26:28,800
When we live in that chronic
pain state, it overtakes our

544
00:26:28,800 --> 00:26:31,880
whole life.
Because without the pain I, I am

545
00:26:32,280 --> 00:26:35,880
higher energy and I'm happy and
I'm so it's like without the

546
00:26:35,880 --> 00:26:39,160
pain, I feel like I'm myself and
that's already not depressed.

547
00:26:39,160 --> 00:26:41,840
So I'm happy, higher energy and
getting stuff done.

548
00:26:41,840 --> 00:26:45,160
So I guess I hadn't noticed that
it necessarily made me happier

549
00:26:45,160 --> 00:26:48,240
or higher energy because to me
it just it removed the pain.

550
00:26:48,240 --> 00:26:49,920
So I'm myself.
Right.

551
00:26:50,040 --> 00:26:52,080
Well, yeah, and that's how I
feel, too.

552
00:26:52,400 --> 00:26:54,840
Well, I do not suffer from
depression.

553
00:26:54,840 --> 00:26:59,000
I mean, going through, you know,
chronic pain back in the day and

554
00:26:59,000 --> 00:27:02,000
being in pain management and
always suffering and always

555
00:27:02,000 --> 00:27:04,600
feeling like the meds are OK,
but it's never enough.

556
00:27:04,760 --> 00:27:08,040
It puts you in a state of just
like, you feel like you got a

557
00:27:08,040 --> 00:27:11,280
black cloud over your head and
you're always just, you know,

558
00:27:11,440 --> 00:27:14,160
have a form of depression.
But I'm not talking about, like,

559
00:27:14,160 --> 00:27:17,080
severe depression where you're
getting medical intervention.

560
00:27:17,200 --> 00:27:22,080
And so I feel better physically,
which then lifts my mood and

561
00:27:22,080 --> 00:27:25,000
makes me feel, it sounds like
you're like me, where you just

562
00:27:25,000 --> 00:27:28,400
overall feel better because of
this plant.

563
00:27:28,560 --> 00:27:32,160
But there's actually people I've
talked to that are taking it for

564
00:27:32,160 --> 00:27:34,040
chronic pain.
But then they're like, yeah.

565
00:27:34,040 --> 00:27:37,880
And I feel so much better now.
I'm not even taking my anxiety

566
00:27:37,880 --> 00:27:40,400
medicine anymore.
I'm not taking my medicine, you

567
00:27:40,400 --> 00:27:42,800
know, for depression or like,
like, being that they were

568
00:27:42,800 --> 00:27:45,960
taking a variety of meds for a
variety of things.

569
00:27:46,200 --> 00:27:48,440
But it seems like with a lot of
people, they at least get like

570
00:27:48,440 --> 00:27:52,040
an energy boost, freedom, which
is what I feel.

571
00:27:52,040 --> 00:27:54,920
I definitely feel a little bit
of an energy boost, like like a

572
00:27:54,920 --> 00:27:57,760
cup of coffee.
I drink so much Diet Coke that

573
00:27:57,760 --> 00:28:04,960
probably and Michael just bought
a soda machine that you can that

574
00:28:04,960 --> 00:28:09,480
we can make soda home so.
Well, this is a perfect time to

575
00:28:09,480 --> 00:28:12,280
segue into the whole food thing
because when I had you on the

576
00:28:12,280 --> 00:28:15,800
first time on episode 11 of the
Kratom Stories podcast, we got

577
00:28:15,800 --> 00:28:17,480
into quite the discussion of
you.

578
00:28:17,680 --> 00:28:19,720
You were brand new to kratom
again.

579
00:28:19,720 --> 00:28:22,840
You were like 10 days in your
journey and you and your husband

580
00:28:22,840 --> 00:28:26,120
were working up all kinds of
concoctions of like, how can we

581
00:28:26,120 --> 00:28:29,280
use this kratom powder in food?
And I always remembered before

582
00:28:29,360 --> 00:28:33,120
the story of Michael making
kratom quesadillas.

583
00:28:34,440 --> 00:28:37,440
Which I've.
Never heard in my 5 1/2 years

584
00:28:37,440 --> 00:28:39,800
being a pregnant consumer, I've
never heard anybody try that.

585
00:28:39,880 --> 00:28:43,280
But it's interesting hearing
like how people have tried

586
00:28:43,280 --> 00:28:46,120
incorporating it with food.
You don't hear it too often.

587
00:28:46,120 --> 00:28:48,520
I don't think it works really
that great with food.

588
00:28:49,400 --> 00:28:51,920
But you were telling us all
kinds of interesting and the

589
00:28:51,920 --> 00:28:54,320
teas you were made, you're
making all kinds of drinks and

590
00:28:54,320 --> 00:28:56,680
stuff.
So I'd love to hear now that

591
00:28:56,680 --> 00:29:00,680
we're almost a year later, are
you still trying different

592
00:29:00,680 --> 00:29:02,440
drinks?
Have you kind of settled?

593
00:29:02,520 --> 00:29:04,800
You said.
You have tablets, you know, I

594
00:29:04,800 --> 00:29:07,720
think the only thing on that one
that's changed other than I've

595
00:29:07,720 --> 00:29:09,080
settled and we're not
experimenting.

596
00:29:09,080 --> 00:29:11,520
I think Michael stopped too.
He's just, he's like this just

597
00:29:11,520 --> 00:29:15,920
looks like dirt.
And then and then I have this

598
00:29:15,920 --> 00:29:18,680
other thing where I have bladder
teeth because I'd also tried

599
00:29:18,840 --> 00:29:20,920
different medicines that my
urologist.

600
00:29:20,920 --> 00:29:22,760
And I'm sorry guys, I'm just
giving you way too much

601
00:29:22,760 --> 00:29:24,440
information.
So if it's too much, you just,

602
00:29:24,440 --> 00:29:28,160
you know, come back later and
listen, you give me some

603
00:29:28,160 --> 00:29:32,440
medicines and mostly for pain
unrelated that the kratom wasn't

604
00:29:32,440 --> 00:29:34,320
working for.
And the urologist gave me some

605
00:29:34,320 --> 00:29:36,720
medicines and they had side
effects.

606
00:29:36,720 --> 00:29:39,920
Like actually one was starting
to cause me to have seizures.

607
00:29:40,280 --> 00:29:42,280
Like this isn't going to work.
And I'm thinking, well, if

608
00:29:42,280 --> 00:29:44,520
kratom works, there's got to be
a better solution.

609
00:29:44,520 --> 00:29:47,360
So I found this stuff called
Bladder T on Amazon.

610
00:29:47,720 --> 00:29:50,040
So my husband's teasing me.
He goes, so you've got the

611
00:29:50,040 --> 00:29:52,760
kratom looks like the dirt, and
now you've got the stuff that

612
00:29:52,760 --> 00:29:55,480
looks like lawn clippings.
He goes, why don't you just go

613
00:29:55,520 --> 00:29:57,360
out in the backyard?
And you could probably just, you

614
00:29:57,360 --> 00:30:02,400
know, just eat from the backyard
and you'd be fine, Like because

615
00:30:02,400 --> 00:30:04,640
I'm not sure which stuff to eat
and I don't want, you know, the

616
00:30:04,640 --> 00:30:08,040
dog Doo Doo mixed.
It'll be bad.

617
00:30:08,400 --> 00:30:12,000
It's like, yeah, so I have an
interesting because now I have

618
00:30:12,000 --> 00:30:15,760
the bladder tea that actually is
tea and I I did not try mixing

619
00:30:15,880 --> 00:30:19,200
the Kratom in with that, that
that's kind of nasty enough.

620
00:30:20,080 --> 00:30:23,040
Yeah.
You know, I have experimented

621
00:30:23,040 --> 00:30:26,160
with like my morning kratom.
You know, I do the swamp water

622
00:30:26,160 --> 00:30:29,200
tea and just I don't do it like
a big drink because I don't I'm

623
00:30:29,200 --> 00:30:30,960
not a tea drinker.
I remember you were telling this

624
00:30:30,960 --> 00:30:33,480
last time that you were making,
you know, some teas and stuff

625
00:30:33,480 --> 00:30:36,280
because you like to drink tea.
I just heat up a little bit of

626
00:30:36,280 --> 00:30:39,120
water, mix in my powder, add
some juice, drink it really

627
00:30:39,120 --> 00:30:40,520
fast.
I was trying to slam it right

628
00:30:40,520 --> 00:30:43,480
down.
But in the morning, I like using

629
00:30:43,480 --> 00:30:46,600
like, you know, some of the
green powder, not kratom green,

630
00:30:46,600 --> 00:30:49,000
but like, you know, the ones
where it's like freeze dried

631
00:30:49,000 --> 00:30:51,360
fruits and veggies kind of, you
know, like the healthy stuff

632
00:30:51,640 --> 00:30:55,800
like you put in smoothies.
And my routine has been adding

633
00:30:56,040 --> 00:31:01,840
my green powder and turmeric.
And so for a while, like I want

634
00:31:01,840 --> 00:31:03,880
to incorporate that into my
morning routine.

635
00:31:04,360 --> 00:31:05,720
I mean, these are things
normally you put into a

636
00:31:05,720 --> 00:31:08,840
smoothie, but I want to like,
OK, can I put this in my morning

637
00:31:08,840 --> 00:31:11,800
kratom swamp water?
So I was doing that for a while.

638
00:31:12,040 --> 00:31:15,480
The good thing about the green
powder is a Berry flavor and

639
00:31:15,480 --> 00:31:18,760
it's like, and it's like veggies
and fruits and vitamins and

640
00:31:18,760 --> 00:31:20,160
stuff.
So it tastes pretty good.

641
00:31:20,360 --> 00:31:24,160
But turmeric, I do not like the
taste of it all that is 1 spice.

642
00:31:24,160 --> 00:31:27,000
I do not like, I don't like it
at all.

643
00:31:27,200 --> 00:31:29,840
I think it's like a spice right
in that kind of technical spice.

644
00:31:29,840 --> 00:31:34,400
It definitely smells like 1.
So for a while I was just adding

645
00:31:34,400 --> 00:31:38,760
all that into my morning kratom
and then it dawned on me because

646
00:31:38,960 --> 00:31:41,760
I'm used to the kratom taste
like I can drink my kratom swamp

647
00:31:41,760 --> 00:31:44,440
water doesn't bother me anymore.
But that turmeric, it makes me

648
00:31:44,440 --> 00:31:46,400
want to puke every time I
consume it.

649
00:31:46,400 --> 00:31:48,760
It's so gross.
But I know it has a lot of great

650
00:31:48,760 --> 00:31:50,400
health benefits.
I feel like I am getting the

651
00:31:50,400 --> 00:31:52,480
benefits.
So it dawned on me recently like

652
00:31:52,640 --> 00:31:54,560
why don't I put the powder in
the Blake pipes?

653
00:31:54,560 --> 00:31:57,800
Why don't I just like ah, take
the turmeric.

654
00:31:57,960 --> 00:32:01,840
Here's here was my thinking.
It's like, OK, I got the green

655
00:32:01,840 --> 00:32:04,880
powder that everybody wants.
I'll be sure to link in the show

656
00:32:04,880 --> 00:32:07,000
notes.
I I get the green powder from

657
00:32:07,000 --> 00:32:09,280
Whole Foods.
I think you can order it online

658
00:32:09,280 --> 00:32:10,960
too.
But I really it's a brand I've

659
00:32:10,960 --> 00:32:12,880
been using for like probably 12
years now.

660
00:32:12,880 --> 00:32:15,960
Is it really good for, you know,
if you're into health stuff like

661
00:32:15,960 --> 00:32:19,440
me?
So my thinking was why don't I

662
00:32:19,440 --> 00:32:23,520
put why don't I make a blade
Pape with the turmeric powder

663
00:32:23,600 --> 00:32:27,680
and the Super green powder
combined not mixing up and I

664
00:32:27,760 --> 00:32:30,440
scoop 1 then scoop the other so
they're basically one on top of

665
00:32:30,440 --> 00:32:34,240
each other in the blade Pape.
My thinking is the rare occasion

666
00:32:34,240 --> 00:32:36,880
that the blade Pape doesn't go
down and it opens up in your

667
00:32:36,880 --> 00:32:40,920
mouth or in your throat.
If I taste that much turmeric I

668
00:32:40,920 --> 00:32:42,800
will definitely puke so I
thought.

669
00:32:42,800 --> 00:32:45,920
But if I have the green powder
with it, maybe it won't beat so

670
00:32:45,920 --> 00:32:47,720
bad, you know?
That's.

671
00:32:48,480 --> 00:32:50,880
Been my logical thinking and I'm
pretty good at taking blade

672
00:32:50,880 --> 00:32:52,240
pain.
So I think I've only messed up

673
00:32:52,240 --> 00:32:54,880
like once where it didn't go
down and and then you're just

674
00:32:54,960 --> 00:32:57,640
tasting everything you know the
kratom powder.

675
00:32:57,800 --> 00:33:01,800
So my morning routine is I still
do my kratom swamp order and

676
00:33:01,800 --> 00:33:05,680
then right afterwards I do a
blade Pape with the green powder

677
00:33:05,720 --> 00:33:08,320
and the turmeric powder and I
just down it really quick.

678
00:33:08,320 --> 00:33:10,160
And so far I've done pretty well
with that.

679
00:33:10,160 --> 00:33:12,840
It hasn't been too gross.
I just don't like the taste of

680
00:33:12,840 --> 00:33:14,600
turmeric.
But you know, when you're trying

681
00:33:14,600 --> 00:33:17,920
to take healthy supplements, a
lot of supplements taste bad.

682
00:33:17,920 --> 00:33:21,680
You know, there's a lot of them
that just have a nasty taste.

683
00:33:21,960 --> 00:33:23,240
I don't.
Know of any that taste?

684
00:33:23,280 --> 00:33:25,600
Even the cranberry pills don't
taste good.

685
00:33:25,600 --> 00:33:27,920
Yeah.
Yeah, so I.

686
00:33:27,960 --> 00:33:31,000
Forgot about that blade paint.
Yeah, I when I have been doing

687
00:33:31,000 --> 00:33:34,280
the powder, that's the most
probably 80% of the time I use

688
00:33:34,280 --> 00:33:37,520
the the Blake Papes.
I remember you in the last

689
00:33:37,520 --> 00:33:39,640
episode you you said that you
tried the Blake Papes.

690
00:33:39,640 --> 00:33:42,400
I think you had just tried them.
I think I'd just gotten them

691
00:33:42,400 --> 00:33:45,720
like I'd ordered them, but it
was still too new and I just

692
00:33:45,760 --> 00:33:46,480
started.
Yeah.

693
00:33:46,840 --> 00:33:48,320
Yeah, yeah.
Which is.

694
00:33:48,840 --> 00:33:52,120
And it really just shows that
you hear me casually talk about

695
00:33:52,120 --> 00:33:55,120
kratom and then you do a bunch
of research.

696
00:33:55,120 --> 00:33:59,200
I always recommend everybody do
their own research, you know,

697
00:33:59,880 --> 00:34:02,680
learn about this and there's a
lot to learn with this plant.

698
00:34:02,680 --> 00:34:06,120
This is not a simple plant.
There's so many little things

699
00:34:06,120 --> 00:34:10,280
about it.
But I had also started back then

700
00:34:10,280 --> 00:34:12,960
when I had you on the podcast,
my Kratom Real Talk Community,

701
00:34:12,960 --> 00:34:17,080
which is a free online private
kratom community for people to

702
00:34:17,080 --> 00:34:20,719
come on and talk about kratom
and not deal with censorship we

703
00:34:20,719 --> 00:34:23,400
get on social media and not
worry about an algorithm on

704
00:34:23,400 --> 00:34:26,080
social media.
It's kind of like a Facebook

705
00:34:26,080 --> 00:34:29,280
group is how I look at it.
And you join that.

706
00:34:29,280 --> 00:34:33,080
And I had so much.
I have a ton of information in

707
00:34:33,080 --> 00:34:36,239
there for people new to kratom.
So I'm sure you found a lot of

708
00:34:36,239 --> 00:34:39,040
that helpful early on.
I know I had videos like how to

709
00:34:39,040 --> 00:34:42,159
use blank papes.
I have videos of me, here's how

710
00:34:42,159 --> 00:34:44,400
I use it.
I have like a 7 minute video

711
00:34:45,000 --> 00:34:49,520
walking through everything so
that people that are learning,

712
00:34:49,520 --> 00:34:53,960
you know, can see from somebody
first hand experience of using

713
00:34:53,960 --> 00:34:57,360
something like that.
So I hope you found all that

714
00:34:57,360 --> 00:35:00,520
helpful in there because I've
really geared a lot of

715
00:35:00,520 --> 00:35:03,320
information in there for people
brand new to Craneham.

716
00:35:03,320 --> 00:35:05,840
But now you've been like almost
a year in, you're probably

717
00:35:05,840 --> 00:35:08,320
feeling like an expert.
Well, it definitely helped

718
00:35:08,320 --> 00:35:10,880
watching, I think.
Did I say I tried it and it

719
00:35:10,880 --> 00:35:13,560
worked really well the first
time I used it and then the

720
00:35:13,560 --> 00:35:16,360
second one didn't or something.
I went back and watched your

721
00:35:16,360 --> 00:35:17,880
video.
I'm like, I need to pay more

722
00:35:17,880 --> 00:35:20,200
attention because it's like my
fingers were wet.

723
00:35:20,200 --> 00:35:23,120
The second one I did so then it
stuck and then started to

724
00:35:23,120 --> 00:35:25,480
disintegrate or something.
And it's like, Oh my God, it's

725
00:35:25,480 --> 00:35:28,320
in my mouth right away before it
disintegrates all over every.

726
00:35:28,320 --> 00:35:30,640
And I was doing it.
I do it at my desk.

727
00:35:30,640 --> 00:35:33,240
Like I have this little spot,
but I, I don't have a lot of

728
00:35:33,240 --> 00:35:36,680
space there without it going
onto the computer keyboard,

729
00:35:36,920 --> 00:35:40,040
which I don't want.
I think one time I opened up the

730
00:35:40,040 --> 00:35:43,120
bag to get ready to do it and it
like blew all into my face.

731
00:35:44,560 --> 00:35:46,760
I'm like, OK, great.
This is all over my computer

732
00:35:46,760 --> 00:35:49,240
keyboard.
This is like all over my desk.

733
00:35:49,240 --> 00:35:51,080
It's like, this is not the place
to do it.

734
00:35:51,080 --> 00:35:54,240
You know you should do it in the
kitchen in between.

735
00:35:55,400 --> 00:35:58,640
The kitchen I don't because you
never know if the you're going

736
00:35:58,640 --> 00:36:00,640
to make a mess with the powder.
So I always stick to the

737
00:36:00,640 --> 00:36:03,320
kitchen.
To be really careful and I have

738
00:36:03,320 --> 00:36:05,800
the special bag for it so I can
pop the bag up.

739
00:36:05,800 --> 00:36:08,120
It's like an accessory bag for a
computer accessory bag.

740
00:36:08,560 --> 00:36:10,360
So like everything is my scales
in there.

741
00:36:10,360 --> 00:36:12,600
I have everything like perfectly
organized and I thought I'm not

742
00:36:12,600 --> 00:36:14,600
going to make a mess.
But then the whole thing was

743
00:36:15,160 --> 00:36:18,520
because I remember I mentioned
it, I think in X space and y'all

744
00:36:18,520 --> 00:36:20,160
were laughing like, Yep, that's
happened.

745
00:36:20,160 --> 00:36:22,240
We've had, you know, it's your
first.

746
00:36:22,240 --> 00:36:25,200
You got a face full of kratom.
And it's like, Yep.

747
00:36:25,400 --> 00:36:27,880
But fortunately I had one of
those keyboard covers and it was

748
00:36:27,880 --> 00:36:30,040
actually didn't have any holes
in it or anything.

749
00:36:30,040 --> 00:36:32,280
So I was able to just pull the
keyboard cover right off the

750
00:36:32,760 --> 00:36:34,880
keyboard and my my keyboard was
rescued.

751
00:36:34,880 --> 00:36:37,040
But it's like I had to apologize
to my computer.

752
00:36:37,040 --> 00:36:39,480
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to feed
you, that was for me.

753
00:36:42,240 --> 00:36:44,320
Oh, that's funny, I love that.
Oh man.

754
00:36:44,520 --> 00:36:48,680
So what's your current kratom
routine like these days?

755
00:36:48,680 --> 00:36:51,520
How often are you consuming it?
What kind do you like to

756
00:36:51,520 --> 00:36:53,800
consume?
Like which color and strain?

757
00:36:54,320 --> 00:36:58,160
I like the Super elephant.
Is it super the green?

758
00:36:58,920 --> 00:37:01,840
The green is still the yeah,
super elephant.

759
00:37:01,840 --> 00:37:04,120
I think I'm just combined two
different ones together.

760
00:37:05,520 --> 00:37:07,760
And then and then there's the
elephant green.

761
00:37:07,760 --> 00:37:10,160
Yeah.
I have them labeled on my Mason

762
00:37:10,160 --> 00:37:11,480
jars.
But pretty much when that comes

763
00:37:11,480 --> 00:37:15,040
in I'm I'm dumping it into my
little Mason jars right away and

764
00:37:15,040 --> 00:37:17,400
then have on my my shelf.
But for the most part, I'm doing

765
00:37:17,400 --> 00:37:22,040
the, the tablets probably since
July, I've almost exclusively

766
00:37:22,040 --> 00:37:24,680
been doing the tablets.
And then I have that in a little

767
00:37:24,680 --> 00:37:27,960
container that I, I keep trying
to make sure I used to have it

768
00:37:28,120 --> 00:37:31,840
in the bags that they come in,
like then it would sit on the

769
00:37:31,840 --> 00:37:33,680
floor because I want to make
sure they're accessible.

770
00:37:33,680 --> 00:37:36,400
So I have it right by my chair,
the computer.

771
00:37:36,720 --> 00:37:39,280
But problem is, I have the dog's
treats right?

772
00:37:40,440 --> 00:37:42,720
Now.
I'm like, if I don't get that

773
00:37:42,720 --> 00:37:46,280
thing zipped up, the dog is
because she's really sneaky.

774
00:37:46,320 --> 00:37:48,880
She'll Trudy will just go over
there and she'll stick her her

775
00:37:48,880 --> 00:37:51,680
face into her dog treats and
then start eating her dog treats

776
00:37:51,680 --> 00:37:54,960
so that she's going to go over
there and stick her vase into my

777
00:37:55,360 --> 00:37:57,960
into my kratom and start eating
my kratoms.

778
00:37:58,200 --> 00:38:01,960
So some vendors sell kratom for
dogs like apparently it's a

779
00:38:01,960 --> 00:38:05,160
thing, you know, kratom for dogs
for pain and stuff there and

780
00:38:05,160 --> 00:38:08,080
they've been do researchers have
been researching it with dogs

781
00:38:08,080 --> 00:38:08,560
too.
I just.

782
00:38:08,760 --> 00:38:10,240
Don't want to spend that much
money.

783
00:38:10,640 --> 00:38:13,520
I love my dog.
Like she'll like chow down, you

784
00:38:13,520 --> 00:38:15,840
know, like a whole mouthful of
these kratoms.

785
00:38:16,760 --> 00:38:19,680
Like so no, I have something
that's kind of like Tupperware.

786
00:38:19,680 --> 00:38:21,840
It's really well sealed so I
just make sure.

787
00:38:21,840 --> 00:38:24,320
That.
Have that and then that can

788
00:38:24,320 --> 00:38:25,520
move.
It's small and I should have

789
00:38:25,520 --> 00:38:27,800
brought it over here, but it's
small enough that I can just go

790
00:38:27,800 --> 00:38:30,200
from room to room.
So at night I keep it in the

791
00:38:30,200 --> 00:38:32,560
bedroom and then just bring it
in the office.

792
00:38:32,560 --> 00:38:35,200
And when I was counting out like
how many tablets and, and

793
00:38:35,200 --> 00:38:38,400
Michaels, like how many, you
know, accidentally kill

794
00:38:38,400 --> 00:38:40,400
yourself, you're taking some
tablets and said no.

795
00:38:40,400 --> 00:38:42,800
The nice thing about the tablets
is you can actually count them.

796
00:38:42,800 --> 00:38:45,480
You know, I'm counting 24, so
I'm actually counting them out

797
00:38:45,480 --> 00:38:47,440
so.
Well, I think the reason why

798
00:38:47,440 --> 00:38:51,000
people you can because like when
I do the the ether tablets was

799
00:38:51,000 --> 00:38:53,040
the for me.
What's the equivalent of my

800
00:38:53,040 --> 00:38:56,760
usual 2 teaspoons of powder is
12 tablets.

801
00:38:57,240 --> 00:38:59,560
And if I was doing capsules,
it'd probably be a lot of

802
00:38:59,560 --> 00:39:01,360
capsules.
I don't do capsules though, but

803
00:39:01,560 --> 00:39:05,840
people outside of the of kratom
users, they look at that and go,

804
00:39:05,840 --> 00:39:08,120
Oh my gosh, that's a lot. 12
tablets.

805
00:39:08,120 --> 00:39:13,280
What what are you doing?
But a pill is synthesized to be

806
00:39:13,280 --> 00:39:15,120
so that you just take one,
right?

807
00:39:15,120 --> 00:39:17,240
Everything is in packed into
that one.

808
00:39:17,440 --> 00:39:20,520
But what we're consuming is a
plant, you know, a whole new

809
00:39:20,520 --> 00:39:24,560
powder like with ether, it is
literally the powder that is

810
00:39:24,560 --> 00:39:28,360
pressed with a crazy amount of
pressure to make those tablets.

811
00:39:28,560 --> 00:39:32,000
But if you crush up those
tablets, that equals your powder

812
00:39:32,000 --> 00:39:34,960
you would normally consume.
So I know a lot of people don't

813
00:39:34,960 --> 00:39:38,040
understand, you know, that are
not cream consumers, Like why do

814
00:39:38,040 --> 00:39:40,760
you take so much of this?
But that's it's just not the

815
00:39:40,760 --> 00:39:43,720
same thing as taking a
pharmaceutical pill.

816
00:39:44,080 --> 00:39:46,200
Right.
It's just a form of measurement

817
00:39:46,200 --> 00:39:49,160
and it's I take more than 12,
but I take quite a few.

818
00:39:49,480 --> 00:39:52,120
But I haven't had.
I've only ever once had the.

819
00:39:52,120 --> 00:39:53,880
What is it The creative?
Machine the.

820
00:39:53,880 --> 00:39:57,040
Wobbles, wobbles, that's what it
is and it wasn't on the tablets

821
00:39:57,040 --> 00:39:59,200
it was on.
Can't remember what I'd done but

822
00:39:59,200 --> 00:40:01,920
I I mean I measure it but I
wasn't using the scale at the

823
00:40:01,920 --> 00:40:06,800
time and I didn't did something.
Sometimes some vendors might

824
00:40:06,800 --> 00:40:10,240
have a a strain that's stronger,
you know, with the kratom

825
00:40:10,240 --> 00:40:13,520
family, with Wade, you know, he
has some that are low.

826
00:40:13,520 --> 00:40:16,800
Like he has a stronger green
that is a little too strong.

827
00:40:16,800 --> 00:40:20,280
Like if I like if I use it I
can't do my regular dose because

828
00:40:20,280 --> 00:40:22,960
it's a bit stronger.
That might be what I did is use

829
00:40:22,960 --> 00:40:25,480
that one because it was, yeah.
It might have been something

830
00:40:25,480 --> 00:40:28,040
like that, but it's so
interesting because when I first

831
00:40:28,040 --> 00:40:30,680
started kratom and people said
about talking about the wobbles,

832
00:40:30,680 --> 00:40:33,720
I'm like, what are the wobbles?
And it's really kind of hard to

833
00:40:33,720 --> 00:40:37,200
explain, but if you have the
wobbles, you know, I think

834
00:40:37,200 --> 00:40:39,680
that's the best thing to put it
like you'll know when you have

835
00:40:39,680 --> 00:40:42,840
the wobble.
I had it one time because I

836
00:40:42,880 --> 00:40:44,880
wrote to you and I had, it's
like, I think that was the

837
00:40:44,880 --> 00:40:46,880
wobbles because it was like I
just had to go lay down.

838
00:40:46,880 --> 00:40:50,320
It wasn't, it wasn't a seizure
at all, but it was something

839
00:40:50,320 --> 00:40:53,120
like I was shaky, but it was
something that wasn't a seizure,

840
00:40:53,120 --> 00:40:55,080
but it wasn't, it wasn't really
good either.

841
00:40:56,200 --> 00:40:59,200
It's like if you have too much
caffeine, it's just that little

842
00:40:59,200 --> 00:41:02,040
bit of just kind of, you know,
little like you're just a little

843
00:41:02,040 --> 00:41:06,080
too much, you know, and, and the
thing about kratom is you don't

844
00:41:06,080 --> 00:41:09,600
want to ever take too much
because you can't like you just

845
00:41:09,600 --> 00:41:12,760
do a little and just go.
That's why we would say go low

846
00:41:12,760 --> 00:41:15,880
and slow when you're first
starting, because if you take

847
00:41:15,880 --> 00:41:19,360
too much, either going to get
the wobbles where you just feel,

848
00:41:19,360 --> 00:41:23,320
you know, just a little too much
of it might be a little shaky.

849
00:41:23,320 --> 00:41:25,760
Just depends on what you took
and how your body reacts.

850
00:41:25,960 --> 00:41:30,520
But if you take a whole lot,
you'll throw up, you know, And

851
00:41:31,000 --> 00:41:35,560
so it has that built in
mechanism so that you don't die

852
00:41:35,560 --> 00:41:37,320
from it.
You're not going to OD from it

853
00:41:37,320 --> 00:41:39,760
like a narcotic.
You know, you take narcotics,

854
00:41:39,760 --> 00:41:43,960
you take too much, you OD, you
stop breathing and you die.

855
00:41:43,960 --> 00:41:46,360
And kratom.
Kratom does not cause you to

856
00:41:46,360 --> 00:41:48,160
stop breathing.
Exactly.

857
00:41:48,160 --> 00:41:50,120
That's good.
I got a little bit scared when I

858
00:41:50,120 --> 00:41:51,880
started the wobbles.
I thought, Oh no, here comes a

859
00:41:51,880 --> 00:41:53,480
seizure.
And I mean, not that I but see

860
00:41:53,480 --> 00:41:57,240
the fact that I could get scared
with the way seizures happen.

861
00:41:57,360 --> 00:41:59,960
And I think I probably said this
before, so if there's a repeat,

862
00:41:59,960 --> 00:42:02,640
but the way seizures happen,
they're tonic clonics, you're

863
00:42:02,640 --> 00:42:04,720
going unconscious.
You know, when people say, well,

864
00:42:04,720 --> 00:42:06,840
did you know you had a seizure?
No, because I was unconscious.

865
00:42:06,840 --> 00:42:09,880
But I mean, the best way I can
explain it is, it's, if you

866
00:42:09,880 --> 00:42:13,280
think, uh oh, you say, uh, and
then by the time you get to, oh,

867
00:42:13,560 --> 00:42:15,640
you're already unconscious.
Or I said, I shouldn't say you,

868
00:42:15,640 --> 00:42:17,520
but I am.
So if I'm going to say, hey,

869
00:42:17,520 --> 00:42:20,880
Madeline, and I'm trying to say,
uh oh, oh, I'm already, I'm

870
00:42:20,880 --> 00:42:23,600
already gone.
So the fact that I felt scared,

871
00:42:23,960 --> 00:42:26,680
I could feel scared.
I wasn't unconscious.

872
00:42:26,680 --> 00:42:28,760
So that's how I knew it wasn't a
seizures.

873
00:42:28,760 --> 00:42:32,080
The fact that I was able to
actually feel like, oh, I'm I'm

874
00:42:32,080 --> 00:42:34,120
feeling scared.
Oh wow, okay, hey, I'm still

875
00:42:34,120 --> 00:42:36,560
conscious.
That means it's not a seizure.

876
00:42:36,560 --> 00:42:40,320
And I thought this is good.
This is not this is good, but

877
00:42:40,320 --> 00:42:42,080
this is good that it's not a
seizure.

878
00:42:42,320 --> 00:42:45,400
But I mean, it did.
Originally I thought, Oh no,

879
00:42:45,400 --> 00:42:48,960
please let this not be a seizure
because that means I can't take

880
00:42:48,960 --> 00:42:51,960
kratom anymore because it means
seizure.

881
00:42:52,200 --> 00:42:55,240
And then I just realized, no,
I'm just kind of shaking a

882
00:42:55,240 --> 00:42:57,080
little bit, but I'm not going
into a seizure.

883
00:42:57,080 --> 00:43:00,400
I just laid down and the time
factor and then I was fine.

884
00:43:00,760 --> 00:43:03,080
Yeah, the few times I've had the
wobbles, yeah, you just

885
00:43:03,080 --> 00:43:04,640
basically lay down for a little
bit.

886
00:43:04,640 --> 00:43:08,200
Usually passes within a few
hours and then you just learn

887
00:43:08,200 --> 00:43:10,920
like, OK, this one's a little
too much, maybe I need to take

888
00:43:10,920 --> 00:43:13,640
less of it.
It just allows you to really pay

889
00:43:13,640 --> 00:43:16,760
close attention to what you're
consuming, how you're doing it.

890
00:43:17,080 --> 00:43:21,480
You told me recently you
traveled to a location where

891
00:43:21,480 --> 00:43:25,400
kratom is actually banned and
listed as a schedule one

892
00:43:25,400 --> 00:43:28,080
narcotic, even though we know
it's not narcotic.

893
00:43:28,320 --> 00:43:32,080
Tell us a little bit about that.
What is it like to travel to a

894
00:43:32,080 --> 00:43:34,560
location where you know it's
banned?

895
00:43:35,120 --> 00:43:37,640
Well, I was all excited because
we don't go on very May trips.

896
00:43:37,640 --> 00:43:40,800
It used to be my husband always
had like really restrictive work

897
00:43:40,800 --> 00:43:43,120
schedules and he happened to
have this chance to go on a trip

898
00:43:43,120 --> 00:43:46,000
and I was all excited.
So I was, you know, packing up

899
00:43:46,000 --> 00:43:48,480
and everything.
And then it occurred to me that

900
00:43:48,480 --> 00:43:51,080
it's this place where kratom was
banned.

901
00:43:51,120 --> 00:43:54,440
And it's like, of all the
places, I mean, we already had

902
00:43:54,440 --> 00:43:57,200
everything all set.
It's not like you can undo all

903
00:43:57,200 --> 00:43:59,880
the plans and have all the
places to go.

904
00:43:59,880 --> 00:44:03,840
We had to pick one where kratom
was banned, but I wasn't going

905
00:44:03,840 --> 00:44:05,960
to go without the Kratoms.
I thought, how do you do this?

906
00:44:06,240 --> 00:44:08,240
How do you drive?
And it was we were driving there

907
00:44:08,560 --> 00:44:11,320
because I have no idea.
I didn't have it planned as far

908
00:44:11,320 --> 00:44:13,040
as how we would do the an
airline.

909
00:44:13,280 --> 00:44:18,200
So what we did is I had I just
purchased some little Baggies

910
00:44:18,560 --> 00:44:22,320
for another trip to put my daily
like vitamins and stuff.

911
00:44:22,320 --> 00:44:24,640
I had my daily vitamins normally
in a pill box and I thought,

912
00:44:24,640 --> 00:44:29,240
well, rather than oh, I should
back up, we purchased a Jaguar

913
00:44:29,600 --> 00:44:31,840
and black beauty Jag is what we
call her.

914
00:44:31,840 --> 00:44:36,720
So anyway, we had black beauty.
It's a 2 seater has no backseat.

915
00:44:37,080 --> 00:44:39,680
Little tiny.
Bless her heart, she can't you

916
00:44:39,680 --> 00:44:42,920
can't pack hardly anything in
black beauty Jags.

917
00:44:42,920 --> 00:44:47,360
So I can't pick, you know, these
pill boxes and like, how do we

918
00:44:47,360 --> 00:44:49,960
just downsize everything?
So that's why I was putting my,

919
00:44:50,200 --> 00:44:53,360
my little pills and my little
everything with vitamins into

920
00:44:53,360 --> 00:44:56,280
these little tiny bags.
So I had that going and I

921
00:44:56,280 --> 00:44:57,840
thought, well, wait a minute,
I've got these little bags.

922
00:44:57,840 --> 00:45:01,160
Why don't I put the kratom
tablets into the little tiny

923
00:45:01,160 --> 00:45:03,520
bags?
So now I've got all these bags

924
00:45:03,520 --> 00:45:06,240
and my, all of my doses.
So I, I counted out exactly how

925
00:45:06,240 --> 00:45:08,000
many tablets I would take for
each dose.

926
00:45:08,240 --> 00:45:10,880
So I thought when I do take
them, I don't want to be sitting

927
00:45:10,880 --> 00:45:14,320
there counting out the tablets
in a restaurant and have people

928
00:45:14,320 --> 00:45:15,520
looking and it's like, what is
that?

929
00:45:15,520 --> 00:45:17,440
Because if it is any other
tablet, they're going to think,

930
00:45:17,440 --> 00:45:19,560
why are you taking, you know, 25
pills?

931
00:45:19,600 --> 00:45:23,280
So what are you doing?
So I want to be able to down it

932
00:45:23,280 --> 00:45:24,800
right away.
So I had them all counted out

933
00:45:24,800 --> 00:45:26,720
and had them in little Baggies.
It's like, well, now what do you

934
00:45:26,720 --> 00:45:29,400
do it?
So we emptied out the ibuprofen

935
00:45:29,400 --> 00:45:32,520
out of I shouldn't be.
So they go looking.

936
00:45:32,600 --> 00:45:36,680
So I put all ibuprofen in
another Ziploc bag and I just

937
00:45:36,680 --> 00:45:38,320
left that at home.
I thought I told my husband, I

938
00:45:38,320 --> 00:45:41,000
said if you need ibuprofen,
we're just have to go into, you

939
00:45:41,000 --> 00:45:44,600
know, corner store or something
and just go buy some ibuprofen.

940
00:45:45,040 --> 00:45:48,800
And I stuck all the little
Baggies of kratom tablets into

941
00:45:48,800 --> 00:45:50,560
the ibuprofen.
So now we've got this big

942
00:45:50,560 --> 00:45:54,360
ibuprofen and we stuck it in
like the little armrest thing in

943
00:45:54,360 --> 00:45:58,320
the Jag and the whole trip it's
like we had to always

944
00:45:58,320 --> 00:46:01,240
consciously think, where is the
ibuprofen?

945
00:46:01,240 --> 00:46:03,840
Oh, that's the other thing.
Made sure we never referenced

946
00:46:03,960 --> 00:46:05,960
kratom.
It was like, oh honey, did you

947
00:46:05,960 --> 00:46:09,120
get my ibuprofen out?
So if anyone heard us and it's

948
00:46:09,120 --> 00:46:11,920
like, oh, I think I forgot my
ibuprofen in the Jag.

949
00:46:11,920 --> 00:46:14,880
Could you go get the ibuprofen?
It's like, Oh yeah, I forgot

950
00:46:14,880 --> 00:46:16,360
that.
So he's going out out there

951
00:46:16,360 --> 00:46:19,800
because I kept thinking, what if
they find the ibuprofen in the

952
00:46:19,800 --> 00:46:21,240
Jag?
That means now they've got to

953
00:46:21,240 --> 00:46:24,720
take the Jag because the Jag had
ibuprofen in it.

954
00:46:24,720 --> 00:46:28,760
So now we lose our car too,
because it's got, it's got this,

955
00:46:30,000 --> 00:46:33,160
the drug in the Jag.
So it's like then it's in the

956
00:46:33,160 --> 00:46:34,920
hotel.
I even got so scared that when I

957
00:46:34,920 --> 00:46:38,360
would take the kratom, I
thought, well, what about the

958
00:46:38,360 --> 00:46:40,160
little baggie?
Do I leave this in the hotel

959
00:46:40,160 --> 00:46:44,400
room in the garbage can?
What if they find the garbage

960
00:46:44,520 --> 00:46:45,960
can?
So I'm putting the little

961
00:46:45,960 --> 00:46:49,280
Baggies in my makeup bag to take
back home to dispose of my

962
00:46:49,280 --> 00:46:51,840
husband's like, OK, Deb, you got
to breathe.

963
00:46:52,240 --> 00:46:56,280
They're not sending drugs,
kratom, drug sniffing dogs up to

964
00:46:56,280 --> 00:46:58,760
check the garbage to see what
was in the little baggie that

965
00:46:58,760 --> 00:47:02,480
you stuck in the garbage can.
He's like, you can throw away

966
00:47:02,480 --> 00:47:04,160
the little Baggies.
Don't worry about it.

967
00:47:04,160 --> 00:47:07,400
So he's like, I don't think, I
don't think you're in that much

968
00:47:07,440 --> 00:47:09,680
danger.
We'll just keep track of the

969
00:47:09,680 --> 00:47:12,920
ibuprofen and you're fine.
I.

970
00:47:13,640 --> 00:47:17,000
Just kept thinking if they catch
me I'm just going to prison and

971
00:47:17,000 --> 00:47:22,960
that's it, I'm done.
That is crazy that in places

972
00:47:22,960 --> 00:47:27,480
where it is banned, not just the
band, the sale, but like they're

973
00:47:27,520 --> 00:47:31,040
like where you went and other
parts of the US, not very many

974
00:47:31,040 --> 00:47:34,280
of them, thank God, but were
they treated as schedule one

975
00:47:34,280 --> 00:47:38,760
where is a felony if you're
caught with it and could go to

976
00:47:38,760 --> 00:47:42,680
prison?
They're not actively looking for

977
00:47:42,680 --> 00:47:47,680
people with kratom.
So I think you know, but still

978
00:47:47,680 --> 00:47:50,800
is that mindset it puts you in
knowing you're going somewhere

979
00:47:50,800 --> 00:47:55,560
where that's how is treated.
So, oh, that's what Michael kept

980
00:47:55,560 --> 00:47:56,960
saying.
And I I knew that where it's

981
00:47:56,960 --> 00:48:00,640
like, it's not like they're
actively hunting this down and

982
00:48:00,640 --> 00:48:03,440
trying to remember our rights.
Where it's like, you know,

983
00:48:03,440 --> 00:48:04,840
someone says, can we search your
car?

984
00:48:04,840 --> 00:48:07,360
No, and you know, I've always
been one of these cooperative

985
00:48:07,360 --> 00:48:10,800
people where if a police officer
asked for something, it's like I

986
00:48:10,800 --> 00:48:14,040
just very cooperative, but you
know, thinking it through

987
00:48:14,040 --> 00:48:16,520
methodically saying do you have
a search?

988
00:48:16,640 --> 00:48:18,600
You know, in my mind, do you
have a search warrant?

989
00:48:18,920 --> 00:48:21,360
Is there it's like no, you
cannot search our car.

990
00:48:21,360 --> 00:48:25,560
So I was we always made sure the
quote UN quote ibuprofen was in

991
00:48:25,560 --> 00:48:28,520
the the little it's like a glove
box, but it was between the

992
00:48:28,520 --> 00:48:30,440
armrest thing between the the
seats.

993
00:48:30,440 --> 00:48:32,600
It's like, Oh yeah.
So now don't stop me.

994
00:48:32,600 --> 00:48:37,080
Police officers are looking at
but but I mean, making sure that

995
00:48:37,320 --> 00:48:40,280
that we're not just making it
available that you actually

996
00:48:40,280 --> 00:48:42,720
stick to your rights.
And they to think through that

997
00:48:42,720 --> 00:48:46,040
as far as the legalities of
that, that you don't have to

998
00:48:46,040 --> 00:48:47,440
just.
And I was thinking about what

999
00:48:47,440 --> 00:48:50,480
was what was her name?
And was it Alabama, the gal that

1000
00:48:50,480 --> 00:48:52,960
crossed over from Yeah.
So that was.

1001
00:48:53,400 --> 00:48:58,520
That was Shana Brown, who bought
it in Florida, where it is legal

1002
00:48:58,720 --> 00:49:01,520
and crossed an imaginary state
line in Alabama.

1003
00:49:01,520 --> 00:49:04,600
And Alabama is one of the states
where it is banned.

1004
00:49:04,920 --> 00:49:09,320
And so she gets caught with it
at some traffic stop or

1005
00:49:09,320 --> 00:49:11,000
something.
I forgot what it was, a

1006
00:49:11,000 --> 00:49:13,800
checkpoint stop I think it was.
And they searched her car and

1007
00:49:13,800 --> 00:49:17,200
they found that she had kratom.
They threw her in jail and she

1008
00:49:17,200 --> 00:49:20,160
was in jail for about 8 or nine
months.

1009
00:49:20,480 --> 00:49:24,240
We raised enough money through
all of us advocates on social

1010
00:49:24,240 --> 00:49:28,200
media, and we bailed her out.
She's still facing this

1011
00:49:28,200 --> 00:49:29,960
positive.
You know, right now it's just

1012
00:49:30,000 --> 00:49:33,040
nothing's really happening.
But she's been out on on bond

1013
00:49:33,040 --> 00:49:36,240
for almost a year now and is
still up in the air.

1014
00:49:36,440 --> 00:49:40,480
But you know, she's facing 10
years to life with this.

1015
00:49:40,480 --> 00:49:46,200
Oh no, that's crazy.
A plant, a powder that saved her

1016
00:49:46,200 --> 00:49:49,200
with her addiction.
That's crazy.

1017
00:49:49,520 --> 00:49:52,480
I was for harm reduction and
it's just terrible.

1018
00:49:52,880 --> 00:49:55,440
See, I was thinking about her
that's and that's the whole

1019
00:49:55,440 --> 00:49:58,680
thing where I was like, what can
I do different so that I don't

1020
00:49:58,680 --> 00:50:02,480
end up in that same situation?
And that I didn't mean to say

1021
00:50:02,480 --> 00:50:05,800
that as if I'm putting anything
that even in the remotest sounds

1022
00:50:05,800 --> 00:50:09,000
like I'm putting blame.
I'm I'm not Shayna because no, I

1023
00:50:09,080 --> 00:50:12,520
want to come rescue you.
I mean, that's not, not anything

1024
00:50:12,600 --> 00:50:15,680
in her direction, but it's like,
how can is there anything that

1025
00:50:15,680 --> 00:50:20,360
we can do ourselves to not get
in that situation?

1026
00:50:20,360 --> 00:50:23,560
Not that any of it's their own
fault, but to prevent something

1027
00:50:23,560 --> 00:50:26,760
like that if we have to cross
state lines as far as creative.

1028
00:50:26,760 --> 00:50:29,760
And I keep wondering, it's like,
why did they search your car?

1029
00:50:29,760 --> 00:50:31,440
Did they even have any right to
do that?

1030
00:50:31,440 --> 00:50:34,280
Or did they just take right to
do that when it wasn't their

1031
00:50:34,280 --> 00:50:36,840
right to search your car?
You know, because I can't see

1032
00:50:36,840 --> 00:50:40,080
how how you just pull someone
over and ask for their driver's

1033
00:50:40,080 --> 00:50:42,560
license and then all of a sudden
you have the right to search the

1034
00:50:42,560 --> 00:50:43,840
car.
Yeah.

1035
00:50:43,840 --> 00:50:46,440
And as far as advice to people,
it's like if there's any

1036
00:50:46,440 --> 00:50:49,040
question you're close to a
border, make sure it's in your

1037
00:50:49,040 --> 00:50:53,040
trunk or it's somewhere where
it's not seen, even if it isn't

1038
00:50:53,040 --> 00:50:57,480
an ibuprofen container.
Yeah, it's sad that, you know,

1039
00:50:57,480 --> 00:51:00,720
there's been these cases of
people caught with it in a place

1040
00:51:00,720 --> 00:51:03,280
where it's banned.
A lot of people travel around

1041
00:51:03,280 --> 00:51:05,560
the country, truck drivers and
stuff, or they don't even

1042
00:51:05,560 --> 00:51:09,200
realize it's banned in certain
places and they're they've got

1043
00:51:09,200 --> 00:51:11,920
kratom with them.
And so they'll usually hear

1044
00:51:11,920 --> 00:51:14,920
about it from us advocates
talking about it.

1045
00:51:14,920 --> 00:51:17,840
So I just like advocating and
just getting the word out

1046
00:51:17,840 --> 00:51:20,600
because I know it helps people.
Just like when I mentioned it,

1047
00:51:20,600 --> 00:51:23,520
you heard me talk about it and
it just makes me so happy that

1048
00:51:23,840 --> 00:51:26,000
this plant has helped you so
much.

1049
00:51:26,200 --> 00:51:28,640
Are you doing any kind of
advocacy?

1050
00:51:28,640 --> 00:51:30,760
Are you just doing like some
word of mouth and letting people

1051
00:51:30,760 --> 00:51:32,800
know about how kratom is helping
you or what?

1052
00:51:32,800 --> 00:51:35,520
What all have you been doing?
I'd like to get more involved.

1053
00:51:35,520 --> 00:51:37,720
I'd actually like to spend more
time volunteering.

1054
00:51:37,720 --> 00:51:40,800
So I, I looked up like, AKA I
don't not sure how to get in

1055
00:51:40,800 --> 00:51:42,600
touch with them.
So if they happen to hear this,

1056
00:51:42,600 --> 00:51:46,320
hey, I'm, I'm here and I, I want
to help out and God willing, if

1057
00:51:46,320 --> 00:51:48,640
there's anything in Washington,
DC, I mean, it doesn't even have

1058
00:51:48,640 --> 00:51:52,120
to go that far, but I'm, I'm
willing to go tell my story, go

1059
00:51:52,120 --> 00:51:54,840
do anything because I think more
and more people when I'm reading

1060
00:51:54,840 --> 00:51:57,600
these stories of and I don't
want to pick on people

1061
00:51:57,600 --> 00:52:00,640
specifically.
So not saying names, but deaths

1062
00:52:00,760 --> 00:52:05,360
that are attributed to kratom.
And we could talk for hours just

1063
00:52:05,360 --> 00:52:07,760
on that topic alone.
But I mean, I understand when

1064
00:52:07,760 --> 00:52:11,520
people lose loved ones and
they're terribly sad, but it it

1065
00:52:11,520 --> 00:52:15,840
really aggravates me that people
are weaponizing that situation

1066
00:52:16,080 --> 00:52:18,480
and turning against kratom.
And then people who are ignorant

1067
00:52:18,480 --> 00:52:21,560
of the whole situation, like you
said last time we talked as far

1068
00:52:21,560 --> 00:52:25,200
as the misinformation that's out
there and that that means that

1069
00:52:25,480 --> 00:52:28,640
other people are not allowed to
take kratom or like I was

1070
00:52:28,640 --> 00:52:31,640
telling my husband last night
after watching the AK.

1071
00:52:31,640 --> 00:52:34,160
Now I just discovered the AK has
these webinars.

1072
00:52:34,160 --> 00:52:37,560
I love them and I'm like, I'm
like, and the at the kratom gals

1073
00:52:37,560 --> 00:52:39,760
and the two guys, Oh my
goodness.

1074
00:52:39,760 --> 00:52:43,200
Okay, so I'm so excited and go
tune in all and you have to

1075
00:52:43,320 --> 00:52:45,240
definitely put links to that the
show.

1076
00:52:45,840 --> 00:52:48,560
But that's tell my husband would
be like, for instance, if

1077
00:52:48,560 --> 00:52:52,240
somebody is allergic to peanuts
and maybe they don't know and

1078
00:52:52,240 --> 00:52:54,440
they eat peanuts and for
whatever, you know, they they

1079
00:52:54,440 --> 00:52:58,280
die from the allergy, But then
the parent is going out there

1080
00:52:58,280 --> 00:53:01,800
saying we now have to ban
peanuts forever.

1081
00:53:02,120 --> 00:53:06,520
And that means and by the way, I
actually for my epilepsy, I take

1082
00:53:06,560 --> 00:53:09,280
peanuts like I eat peanut butter
and that will stop.

1083
00:53:09,480 --> 00:53:12,080
I know the doctors think I'm
crazy, but it actually works.

1084
00:53:12,080 --> 00:53:14,360
So I'm sorry, neurologist, it is
true.

1085
00:53:14,360 --> 00:53:17,440
But if I feel a seizure coming
on, I can eat peanut butter and

1086
00:53:17,440 --> 00:53:20,640
stop a seizure.
Crazy as it is, it, it may not

1087
00:53:20,640 --> 00:53:23,280
work 100% of the time, but I
actually can slow down and I can

1088
00:53:23,280 --> 00:53:25,440
stop a seizure that's coming out
on peanut butter.

1089
00:53:25,440 --> 00:53:28,560
So now because somebody died
because I have a peanut allergy

1090
00:53:28,560 --> 00:53:31,240
and didn't know what they died
and their mother and father are

1091
00:53:31,240 --> 00:53:34,920
upset, so they go on a whole
campaign and they ban peanuts

1092
00:53:34,920 --> 00:53:37,360
across the United States that
nobody can eat peanuts.

1093
00:53:37,360 --> 00:53:39,840
That means that I as an
epileptic, I'm not allowed to

1094
00:53:39,840 --> 00:53:43,560
use peanuts to stop my seizure.
That scenario is about as crazy

1095
00:53:43,560 --> 00:53:44,720
as what they're doing with
kratom.

1096
00:53:45,160 --> 00:53:47,760
Yeah, they're weaponizing their
grief.

1097
00:53:47,760 --> 00:53:52,080
You got these attorneys trying
to capitalize on this.

1098
00:53:52,080 --> 00:53:57,000
And you know, we go through so
much of this in the community

1099
00:53:57,000 --> 00:54:01,120
where misinformation,
propaganda, weaponizing the

1100
00:54:01,120 --> 00:54:04,400
grief, doing all these things,
they're just so hell bent on

1101
00:54:04,400 --> 00:54:08,440
getting this plant to the point
where they want it banned for

1102
00:54:08,440 --> 00:54:10,120
everyone.
Even though this there are

1103
00:54:10,120 --> 00:54:13,080
millions of people in the US
that use this and it helps them.

1104
00:54:13,480 --> 00:54:16,200
And what they do?
What's the other option to go

1105
00:54:16,200 --> 00:54:19,720
dive overdose of oxy?
Right, exactly.

1106
00:54:19,720 --> 00:54:22,720
It's like they don't even care.
I know I I feel like we can have

1107
00:54:22,720 --> 00:54:26,440
a whole episode talking about
that, but this has been such a

1108
00:54:26,440 --> 00:54:29,320
great discussion with you,
Deborah, because I mean, it's

1109
00:54:29,320 --> 00:54:33,080
great revisiting from where we
were almost a year ago.

1110
00:54:33,080 --> 00:54:36,120
I mean, like I literally sat
down with you, I think it was

1111
00:54:36,120 --> 00:54:39,600
about 10 months ago and you had
just started and it was so cool

1112
00:54:39,600 --> 00:54:43,760
hearing your early beginnings
with kratom and now coming back

1113
00:54:43,760 --> 00:54:47,560
all this time later to see like
where you at now, how how this

1114
00:54:47,560 --> 00:54:52,200
is doing for you.
And I imagine you have a lot

1115
00:54:52,200 --> 00:54:54,880
more you can share.
So my last question is like

1116
00:54:54,880 --> 00:54:57,080
knowing all the stuff you know
now and you definitely know a

1117
00:54:57,080 --> 00:55:00,520
lot more, what advice would you
give someone who's just starting

1118
00:55:00,520 --> 00:55:03,560
out in their journey?
Well, what's right on my mind

1119
00:55:03,560 --> 00:55:06,320
right now, because we're just
talking about the whole banning

1120
00:55:06,640 --> 00:55:10,160
and all that is make sure that
you, well, you know what?

1121
00:55:10,480 --> 00:55:13,360
Here's some advice.
Hook up with Madeline and her

1122
00:55:13,360 --> 00:55:16,560
group and shave the links
because you need to stay

1123
00:55:16,560 --> 00:55:20,000
informed as far as like, for
instance, where kratom is

1124
00:55:20,000 --> 00:55:22,120
allowed and not allowed.
Because I think that if you're

1125
00:55:22,120 --> 00:55:25,160
planning a trip, definitely know
where you're going or where

1126
00:55:25,160 --> 00:55:27,080
you're crossing borders and
things like that.

1127
00:55:27,320 --> 00:55:29,720
As far as where it's legal or
it's not legal, doesn't mean

1128
00:55:29,720 --> 00:55:32,080
that you can't take a kratom
with you, but it would be

1129
00:55:32,080 --> 00:55:36,120
helpful to know how to deal with
kratom so that you don't get

1130
00:55:36,400 --> 00:55:38,640
sucked into one of these things
like Shana Brown.

1131
00:55:38,960 --> 00:55:42,120
That's just something that's
like on my mind because it was

1132
00:55:42,120 --> 00:55:44,080
just within what was that the
last two weeks.

1133
00:55:44,560 --> 00:55:46,720
And I would just hate to see
anybody else get in that same

1134
00:55:46,720 --> 00:55:49,240
situation as Shana.
But don't let that stop you

1135
00:55:49,240 --> 00:55:52,320
taking the kratom because to me,
kratom definitely helps you

1136
00:55:52,320 --> 00:55:56,320
balance your life and helps to
give you life as far as me able

1137
00:55:56,320 --> 00:55:59,560
to be, as I called it, normal
person for lack of any other

1138
00:55:59,560 --> 00:56:04,680
words, it definitely is a
lifesaver and it's certainly

1139
00:56:05,040 --> 00:56:07,560
gave me my life back.
So thank you, Mad.

1140
00:56:08,120 --> 00:56:10,480
Thank you so much, Deb.
This has been a great time

1141
00:56:10,680 --> 00:56:12,480
catching up.
So thank you for spending time

Thank you.

1143

Musician / Podcaster / Health Advocate

I don't know what I am! No, seriously... Let me back up a few years... decades...

When I was six, and I was told I was chronically ill, I wasn't sure if I would see my seventh birthday, let alone this many decades. So, as far as a title? My goal was to LIVE! My mother told everyone I was going to die when I was a kid.

That is why music became such a part of my life. It was what got me through so much. It got me through the pain, both emotionally and physically. I decided that no chronic illness, no abuse, and no amount of pain was going to hold me back from being everything I could be as a human being. Not just a diabetic but a human being. I wasn't competing with the rest of the world. I was competing with myself to survive. That is what drove me and allowed me to become all-state in music, #1 Jazz singer, #1 in Speech, broadcasting, and the list goes on because I was striving to prove to myself (no one else) that it was possible to be human in spite of a chronic illness and (emotional) pain.

Then, the chronic pain (to an exponential level) set in, and the rules changed yet again... I had learned how to deal with the other stuff, but this stopped me in my tracks... Add to that 120-150 seizures...well...

Thanks to Madalyn Sklar and this newfound community, I have another lease on life, another opportunity to say life might kick you a few times, but you are not out of the game! Keep going... Keep smiling, and keep giving hugs and smiles to others! You are not alone; the world needs your smile and what you h…
