CEO New Hope Botanicals
I grew up in Southern California, Orange County to be exact. I was always very interested in billiards, and excelled greatly in it. I placed at numerous national tournaments growing up, and I was considered the next "come up kid." In my teens years I went down the wrong path and started using drugs. I was using ecstasy, pain pills, heroin, and dabbled with meth. I went to treatment centers, did counseling, all of what western medicine tells you to do. Unfortunately, it didn't work. Then I found a plant called kratom and everything changed for me, it blew my mind. I started selling kratom out of my parent's garage (a big no no nowadays) and then slowly grew my company. A few years later I opened a retail location and we have now grown into one of the more recognized vendors in the industry.
Here's a great episode to get you started featuring podcast host, Madalyn Sklar. Hear her journey about living with chronic pain and finding relief from a plant that has worked better than years of pharmaceuticals.
